Dr. David Harold Fastman, MD

David Fastman has been under investigation for professional misconduct. There have been allegations of him exploiting women's bodies for the purpose of training residents. He has made poor surgical mistakes and performs unwarranted pelvic exams. He has been reprimanded by the State but continues to practice.

David Fastman uses outdated practices- like cutting a medi-lateral episiotomy even in an uncomlicated birth. He then used a resident to do the suturing, even though I told him I don't want her doing it. He stated" I need her help", which is of course a lie. I am still suffering long term complications from the disrepaired surgical incision. Currently, I am in midwifery school. This physician is tied to old overly medicalized ways of doing things. It's a shame that women are continuing to use him, even though he is mutilating their bodies during birth. BEsides, he is disrespectful in his manner in performing pelvic exams.
