Dr. David Stjohn Hulbert, MD

I had a bad reaction to something I used during sex with my fiancé. Baby oil. I made an appointment to see Dr. hulbert, and during my exam he told me it was herpes. I tried to explain to him there’s no way that could be possible, I only sleep with my fiancé, we’ve Been together for 8 years. We do not live that lifestyle so I knew for sure it could not have been herpes. He was not open to hear my explanation he was very impatient. He gave a sigh and implied that it was herpes, and that I do not know what my fiancé is doing when I’m not around. I felt horrible that day in that office I felt like I was being judged, because he also had two other people in the room watching in between my legs. As soon as I left the office I broke down and cried, I was literally depressed until my results came back. And guess what they were negative. This guy gave me no hope, he was not patient, when he would ask me questions about my sex history he obviously did not listen to my responses.

I told him there was no possible way I’d have herpes, my fiancé and I only have sex with each other and we get tested regularly. he was very insensitive, it’s like as I tried to explain to him that it wasn’t possible and ask what else it could possibly be, he would just sigh & cut me of and say it’s herpes and that I don’t know what my fiancé does When I’m not around... he put me into a depression until my lab results came back..... as I mentioned it was not herpes. I still to this day don’t know what exactly happened. This guy did nothing but gave me a heart attack. He was not patient, not assuring, he did not give me peace of mind, he did not listen to my responses to his questions to rule out herpes. I felt horrible about myself and I felt as though I was being judged.

Saw for a post-surgical follow-up visit at hiw office in Morristown, NJ. Spent a lot of time with me and made me feel better. Highly recommend him and all the other staff at Garden State Gynecology!
