Bad news, scam billing practices, scam doctor. These reviews are fake, check Yelp (Maiden Lane Medical) because that's what you're really getting. He is "one of them."

This guy is really bad news and finds problems where they don't exist so you go to his and his 1.5 stars on Yelp office. The reviews here are not accurate nor indicative of the experience people really have. This is a scam artist, not a doctor.

Dr. Kaufman is one of the best doctors who I have ever met, and I highly recommend him. He not only possesses exceptional expertise and judgment; he also respects the importance of the individual patient’s symptoms and history. Prior to meeting Dr. Kaufman, I endured many years of misdiagnoses and painful, unsuccessful treatments for my symptoms. While the other doctors were applying a conventional diagnosis and recommending traditional treatments, Dr. Kaufman understood that my symptoms were chronic and recurrent, and therefore warranted a different diagnosis and approach. After working with Dr. Kaufman for only a short period of time, I am feeling better than I have felt in 20 years! I am confident that with his management of my symptoms, I will have the long-term relief that other doctors were unable to provide. It is rare to find a physician with his unique combination of experience, wisdom, and compassion; I highly recommend Dr. Kaufman.

I had an excellent experience with Dr Kaufman and his staff. Dr Kaufman performed a vasectomy for me. He explained things very clearly before the procedure, performed the procedure quickly, efficiently and painlessly, and personally followed up lab results after the procedure. I couldn't have asked for better.

I have been struggling with UTI-symptoms for two months, and I came into his office in tears because I'd been told by other doctors my possible condition was incurable. I have suffered from Interstitial Cystitis (IC)/Bladder Pain Syndrome (BPS) for most of my life. I tried different treatments prescribed by various Urologists but none were successful in treating my condition. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer six years ago and underwent a Mastectomy and Chemotherapy. I chose to have my breast reconstructed using the skin removed from my pelvic area. Unfortunately, this seemed to aggravate/irritate my bladder which caused my IC/BPS to become unbearable. The remedies I tried in the past no longer seemed to work. I tried other remedies that I found on-line which also did not work. Since my cancer surgeries, I desperately attempted to find a doctor/specialist who could determine a course of treatment for my condition but none were able to do so. After extensive research, and through a stroke of luck, I eventually was able to locate a Urologist (specialist/expert in the treatment of Interstitial Cystitis) - Dr. David Kaufman. Dr. Kaufman… was able to thoroughly diagnose my condition and prescribed/tailored a course of treatment specific to my situation. Since being treated by Dr. Kaufman, my IC/BPS condition has greatly improved. Dr. Kaufman is a competent, kind, patient and compassionate individual who cares about his patient’s well-being. I cannot thank him enough for improving the quality of my life. I highly recommend him.

When I went to see Dr. Kaufman I had been in severe pain for 5 months, seen 3 different doctors, was on 6 different medications and had been diagnosed with IC . From the start Dr. Kaufman was compassionate and confident he could help me . At my first appointment he explained to me I had been misdiagnosed. Dr. David Kaufman is genuinely a nice guy and a great doctor. Since my very first appointment, I felt very welcomed and instantly felt comfortable discussing my symptoms. Upon discussion, Doc instantly diagnosed my issues and recommended specific treatment / medicine that would help. Three weeks later for my post follow up, I had greater results than imagined. In addition, if I ever had questions or needed a refill on my prescriptions, Dr. Kaufman would instantly answer my questions online and/ or submit the prescription to my pharmacy. I definitely recommend Dr. Kaufman to those seeking a great Urologist and a great person to open up too.

Dr Kaufman is the best Urologist in NYC. I was dealing with a debilitating prostate disorder and saw 5 urologists before him. He immeadiately realized it as an infection and treated it as such. He took the time to explain/run testing and prescribe the proper treatments. He will go the extra mile for you without question. Wish I would have seen him sooner is all I can say.

Dr. Kaufman is super knowledgeable, approachable, and pragmatic. He and his staff are also really friendly and efficient. Really happy I found him.
