Dr. David Henry Kindred, MD

I went to Dr. Kindred for a period of around 10 years, from HS and through the birth of our 1st child. Through my pregnancy, I became discouraged when I was seeing him every 2 weeks and he called me by the wrong name. There was ALWAYS a very super long wait and often I would see the NP or midwife instead of him instead of waiting even longer. I was made to wait to push at the hospital while in labor because the doctor was not there yet, so I had to hold off for at least 10 minutes. I had wrongfully assumed he was somewhere in the hospital but not the case. After this, I kept seeing him for a while. In some ways he was a very good doctor and was able to diagnose me with low progesterone which I was very impressed with & thankful for. Staff were not overly compassionate at that apt when he suggested the progesterone test-I admitted depression (which I now know was a sx of the hormone imbalance) and he told a nurse to give me a test, the nurse just handed me a depression scale to fill… out, left then came back & got it, never explained anything to me at all or talked to me. I was worried about what was going to happen based on what I put on it. Then, I had an IUD implanted, but ended up having terrible pain & constant spotting with it, so I asked to have it removed. He refused to remove it at my next apt stating that he was going to bill this apt as a consult or follow up or something, & that I surely can understand that he's not going to get paid by the insurance if he did it now as he can't bill for both, and how unfair it is to the doctors like him. Seriously, you'd rather make me be in pain longer, and drive an hour to see you AGAIN, to help yourself get paid a little more. He was so condescending at that point that I decided to switch to his former NP who is absolutely wonderful. He had also brought a male student into the room for an exam with me without asking, when I was a young college age girl. Totally mortifying.

I had 2 surgeries by Doctor and never had a problem. I loved his caring bedside manners and him. He was very good doctor. I hate this had to happen to him. But any surgery is risky. No human being is perfect . He does inform us the risks of the procedures going to be done.

He runs testing and gives results of levels no one has ever done for me. Him and the staff are awesome to work with. If he's delivering a baby, you might have to wait but that is expected

I have been a patient of dr kindreds for 7 years and he has delivered 3 of my babies. He found my best friends brain tumor and helped me with a few other medical issues. I wouldn't deliver with anyone else. He's so incredibly smart and kind. Yea sometimes your visits are shorter but he knows exactly what you need to check evwrytime you're in. You're in good hands, especially with his staff! I LOVE all the ladies in the office! I always bring my babies in at my checkups.

Hea a great doctor and an amazing surgeon i personally will not trust any other surgeon for. A csection hes fast and accurate and has a down to earth attitude

I was referred to Dr. Kindred by my gp (who I trusted a lot) when I was diagnosed with a pelvic tumor in 2012. Dr. Kindred suggested a laparoscopic procedure which he assured us would include a biopsy to determine if cancer was present. He told my relative in the waiting room that the tumor had "exploded" during the procedure. I felt very good after the surgery and returned home. Within 12 hours I couldn't keep a sip of water down with projectile vomiting. Two days later I was readmitted to the hospital through Emergency. No one seemed to know what was wrong with me (if they did, it wasn't shared with me). I was in bed with a tube down my nose and drips and tubes connected for the next five days until ANOTHER physician did another laparoscopic procedure wherein he determined my bowel had been stitched to my abdominal wall in the previous procedure (thus closing it off). He fixed that and I went home two days later. The sample "biopsied" in Dr. Kindred's procedure was… determined to be a rare and deadly type of uterine sarcoma which had been splattered by Dr. Kindred's procedure all over my abdominal area. Due to aggressive treatment by the local Cancer Center and Methodist Hospital, I'm still here 3 years later but treatment necessitated by the robotic procedure Dr. Kindred used resulting in splattering me internally with cancer cells has taken its toll. The remarks about long waits and staff being abrupt I also agree with. I would have given him 0 stars if it were possible.

It is true that the wait times are sometimes a bit long in this office, and one of the downsides of this office is that, with the large number of patients he has, Dr. Kindred doesn't always remember what we went over in our last appointments. BUT Dr. Kindred is an amazing doctor, and I am very grateful to be his patient. First of all, I've always had irregular periods and other cramping issues that have been a painful and frustrating experience for me. Other gynecologists and nurse practitioners just threw BC pills at the problem and told me I likely had PCOS and it could be hard to have children they didn't know for sure, then sent me on my way. Dr. Kindred took the time to listen to my concerns, actually get blood work done and explain to me possibilities of what my issue could be, recommending vitamins and thyroid supplements that could help the problem as opposed to BC to mask symptoms. After he put me on thyroid med, many of my emotional and cramping issues disappeared. AND,… while my periods never regulated themselves I'm pregnant with my first baby right now! That was quite a surprise. I'm going to credit Dr. Kindred for this. Couldn't be happier with the time Dr Kindred took to look into my concerns and give me hope my problems can be treated, and that he didn't just tell me to go on BC like other Dr's did.

Dr. Kindred was suggested to me by a phlebotomist that stated he did the most thorough thyroid screening. I have had hypothyroid problems since age 12 (now 56) and Dr. Kindred is the only one that ordered the blood test to show that I have Hashimoto's, an autoimmune disease. I am now on compounded thyroid medication which has helped tremendously. Yes I have had long wait times in his office but he can't schedule when babies have to be delivered. He also spends as much time as I need and always ends with "Do you have any other questions?" I highly recommend Dr. Kindred!!

I saw Dr.Kindred with my first pregnancy. I was constantly told that my son was to large and that was I sure that I was only that far along.... After I had my son I had nothing but problems and was even told I would not be able to have anymore babies. That was almost 5 years ago and I am about 3 weeks from delivering my second child! One that was a complete shock because I was told I wouldn't be able to have any after my son! I did not go.back to Dr. Kindred for this baby and decided to go to another Dr. I m very happy with this decision.

If you want to be treated like a customer at a meat market, go see Dr. Kindred. Ignores your concerns, NEVER follows up with lab results. Thank GOD there is a midwife to pick up his slack. She is not obsessed with having GIANT babies, either. 2 people I am friends with actually had their baby's collar bones broken by him simply because he was against C-section... If a woman is too tiny to deliver vaginally just admit that a C-section is necessary and DO IT. Don't break a baby's collar bone because you're to obstinate to admit that perhaps you were wrong.
