Dr. David Hoffman Van Thiel, MD

This is the very worst experience that I have personally ever had with a Dr in my lifetime

I seen lots of doctors and Dr David H Van Thiel is far the best doctor out there he graduate top of his class he know his job and does it well and the lady in the front desk Is sweet good lady I seeming lots people miss treated her with that’s is not right

The most sucks clinic. I visit the the year a go for basic blood test. And pay with cash. A past a year collection company call and says to that doctor add me to collection for some bill from laboratory. I don’t now nothing for that. Sucks and liars.

David kept my Dad alive for over 20 years with hep c He died 7 years ago before all the new drugs and procedures I have never met a man more committed to his patients Then him his knowledge of medicine is beyond reproach I and family can not thank him enough We followed him to all Chicago hospitals and Wisconsin and Pennsylvania Many times He was always for his patients My mom now has Alzheimer’s and lives with me Pat is her name Bob was my Dads It has been a long journey as there daughter meeting wonderful people along the way like David I just told our new neighbor about you his friend is 58 and liver Shotting Down I hope they call you. Just know my parents loved you and spoke very highly of you. Life is a journey and we are so thankful you were part of it Debbie Petschow Pat and bob koss Thank you

I see lot of controversial opinions and I try to understand why; Dr. Van Thiel is AMAZING; as a person, as a doctor and as a friend. You, as a patient, have to understand that you have the exquisite chance to be treated by one of the greatest hepatologist and you need to cooperate with him, provide truthful information and follow his advice. I am a registered nurse and this doctor saved my life. Treated me for Hepatitis C and cured it within 40 days. His compassion, professionalism, vast knowledge and excellent bedside manner allowed me to get through a clinical trial that I believe he had a big part in to finding a cure to this horrible Baby Boomers disease. He travel to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on a monthly basis to check on our status. Thank you dr. Van Thiel, are frequently mention your name as I am now case manager and have been in nursing for 30 years. Without you, I wouldn't be here.

He helped to save my life. I live in IL & followed him to WI. I had great treatment from him at Loyola Hospital & I was so happy he helped me with genuine care, concern and nothing was too insignificant to make me feel as though he cared about me. I need to see him again but now I’m terrified because of these reviews of his staff. I WILL NOT tolerate any of that. Some of his patients are very ill & his first line of defense should have compassion. This is something that should either be quashed & definitely reported to authorities. I believe there is a law against what is happening at the front desk. I may still try to see him but if I get a sense of nastiness, it will be dealt with, perhaps even legally which I think all these other people should do. The State of IL has the power & laws to stop this bull.

This doctor is an amazing and awesome doctor who truly cares about his patients. His receptionist on the other hand racist bigot and very nasty individual. She is very rude and violated all HIPPA Regulations daily. She yells at the patients, goes over lab results in front of other patients who sign in refuses to give the actual patient a copy of their lab results, with hold medications and not responding to pharmacy for refills. She also threatens the patients into coming to clinic like for example “if you don’t come today don’t come back at all”. Ive heard talk disrespectfully about all races of color (black, Mexican and Arabians). Disrespectful to staff her and the young lady who works as their phlebotomist. She turns her nose up at people she doesn’t like and if she doesn’t like you she’ll make sure to make your visit there very uncomfortable. She doesn’t call for patients transportation leaving their patients stranded. She screams at the doctor and hold the patients for hours. If… you have insurance you wait hours if you pay cash your in and out. She will be his demise or probably the end of his career.

Since the woman at the front desk showed up you have no Dr patient relationship anymore, she acts as if she if treating you and blocks all communication between you and Van Thiel she answers his phone his emails you name it her name and down right nasty personality is all over it. Thought I would never leave Van Thiel but because of her I no longer have him anyway, very sad
