Dr. David Kenton Wellman

I brought my mother-in-law in to urgent care for someone to look at a wound on her leg that I thought might be infected. Dr. Wellman was kind, courteous, and knowledgeable. His diagnosis and treatment recommendations were spot on, and I love that he didn't automatically jump to the prescription pad for some antibiotics as a younger less experienced doctor may have done. Knowing she had poor circulation in her legs, oral antibiotics probably wouldn't penetrate very well, so he recommended conservative management with regular dressing changes. He had us come back in 3 days to see if there was improvement. There was, so we didn't need to go to the hospital for IV antibiotics, thank goodness. Mom was so grateful that her visit with us didn't have to be interrupted by a hospital stay.The best part was, he seemed genuinely invested in Mom's health and well-being. He even changed some of her pain meds for her chronic back pain because the side effects were bothering her, and that… wasn't even why we came to see him. Her own pain management doctor back home in NJ hadn't even taken the time to listen to her the way Dr. Wellman did. Not only is Dr. Wellman an experienced and skilled physician, he's also just a nice guy. It is clear that his staff adore him, and it's easy to see why. Professional, kind, personable, and smart - you can't ask for much more in a doc.
