Dr. Dawn Scarzella

Just got home from visiting Dr.Scarzella. I wanted to share my thoughts with the community and let them know about my experience in the office and with the doctor herself. The office staff is extremely professional, courteous and on a human level super nice. The women at the front desk made me feel incredibly comfortable. I'm a new patient and quite frankly a visit to the urologist wouldn't be my first choice in how I wanted to start my day but seeing your doctors are necessity, and Dr Scarzella is my new doctor. Tim, the docs assistant came in and took all my information and then proceeded to take a sonogram of my bladder. Very knowledgeable, nice young man and most importantly he made me feel extremely comfortable. He knew his stuff and was extremely personable. The sonogram was quick and at all times I felt like I was in a safe, comfortable place. Tim left the room and about 5 minutes later Doctor Scarzella came in, shook my hand sat down and chatted with me for a bit. Then she got… down to business. She asked me a bunch of questions about how I felt and what the problem was and she was totally disarming. I was extremely nervous, but her calm demeanor and her care for what she was doing finally put me in a position where I was getting relaxed. Then she did the dreaded exam, and you guys know what I'm talking about. She was quick and gentle. I can't emphasize enough how comfortable I felt by the end of the appointment. Sometimes when people get nervous it's obvious, and today my nerves were obvious. I asked a couple of dumb questions, but the doc didn't act as though they were dumb and she answered them without being demeaning. I've seen other urologists in my past who answered every question in a demeaning way, but doctor Scarzella didn't do that one time. I'm going back in a couple of weeks for a small procedure I elected to do and I'm very comfortable. I know I'll be a lot less talkative the second time. I won't be nervous at all. This Doc cares. She came to me highly recommended, and I suggest that everybody reads her bio on her site. It's really amazing and actually a beautiful story. After meeting her I know every word that she wrote was true. I'm really grateful I found a new urologist today and I met somebody who I respect a whole lot. In addition there is one other the thing that I feel is really important when finding a new doctor. I know after meeting her and being treated by her, she's a lovely human being and that goes a long way in her profession, BTW she's also sharp as a tack and and 100% knows her stuff. She's very calm and doesn't use her knowledge and position to order unnecessary tests and cause a patient stress. She was definitive with my diagnosis and all in all after walking in to her office with trepidation, I walked out feeling really good about the whole experience. I have seen other doctors in this specialty use their knowledge to order unnecessary testing and Bill Medicare for tests that shouldn't have been taken. At one point Iasked Dr Scarzella, "aren't you going to do this? Insert test word) Her answer was no, why? Really impressed by that too. I'm a long time Google reviewer and I don't shill for anybody or any company. I always tell the truth good or bad because it helps the people who helped me, and it also helps perspective customers, or patients in this case.. thanks again doc! See you in a couple of weeks! You rock!

Been working with Dawn, for the last 3 years for BPH, and couldnt be more satisfied with her and her staff, highly recommend

Dr. Scarzella is a very knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and easy to talk to. She makes you feel comfortable and listens to what you have to say and very thorough explaining the situation to you. The staff is very pleasant with a family atmosphere. Dr. Scarzella is a wonderful doctor and I would highly recommend her to anyone with urological needs.

Am currently seeing Dr. Scarzella for enlarged prostate. With elevating psa numbers I asked my primary care physician to write a referal for Dr. Scarzella. Although my psa numbers are high, the biopsy and subsequent mri's and bone scans have all been negative. I like the concern the Dr. shows in searching for possible reasons for the elevated psa numbers. She is very knowlegeable, down to earth and caring. The staff is also top notch. I would highly recommend this physician for urological concerns

She is very easy to talk to and also listens to what you have to say. Explains the situation to you and doesn't push you into anything.

Dr. Scarzella is very special. She takes time to listen and take care of your needs. She even asks about my Lymphoma to see how I'm doing with that. I've been a patient for years and would highly recommend her.

She makes you feel comfortable and easy to talk to about anything. Also didn't rush.

I have seen many different doctors in my life as I have multiple chronic diseases, but Dr. Scarzella is my absolute favorite. She just has a way about her. She shows that she is really hearing me and has spent more than what I feel is my share of time to help correctly diagnose me. I have been complicated but finally I have such a better quality of life thanks to the treatments I have received. She and her staff make me feel like family when I come in. Love her and recommend her a thousand times over.
