Dr. Dean Chen, MD

He’s incredibly rude!!! Like, I have never had another doctor speak to me that way. I had such a crazy break/dislocation that at the hospital, nurses & staff were coming in just to check it out. When I got to Dr. Chen, you would’ve thought I was complaining of a splinter or a bruise. He made me feel like garbage & on top of that, he didn’t immediately put me into physical therapy after surgery, a decision that prevented me from ever having full range of motion in this arm again. I actually went to him again when pain wouldn’t stop and I wasn’t getting full ROM, and he offered to break my arm without medication right there. Like a joke? Except it was just mean and he still refused the idea of removing scar tissue or doing anything to help me at all. The rest of his staff was very kind. I feel bad for them.

My 4 daughter saw him for a torn labrum in her right hip. She had already been on crutches and in a lot of pain for 1 1/2 months he was the second Doctor we had seen for her injury. First visit we bring our own xrays and MRI. He does his own X-ray gives a 5 min exam and tells us she needed physical therapy for 6 weeks then come for another exam. Daughter does 4 weeks physical therapy no improvement. Physical Therapist tells us she is not improving and sends note to Dr Chen. We schedule a second appointment thinking he will now be ok to do hip surgery on her. We go to the appointment he does another 5 min exam and tells us he is not comfortable doing that type of surgery. He then recommends a actual Hip specialist to us. His office then goes ahead and charges us for the visit. If he was not comfortable doing that type of surgery we should of never gone to see him in the first place. Then him seeing us for a second time is in my opinion theft and fraud. My insurance company has been… notified and are investigating Dr Chen and his office. Don’t trust this guy.

Another awesome crown treatment by Dr Chen and her team. I did not bring great and durable teeth to Dr Chen’s office, but she has done a fantastic job with all of my mouth care and crowns. They also work well with my anxiety. They give me the breaks I need to stay relaxed during the procedures. I have no fear over dental treatment with Dr Chen and her team!

I have taken appointments with Dr. Chen a few times in the last two years for shoulder and knee. Most recently in end of May 2019, I had arthoscopy done on my knee and repair of a torn meniscus. I found Dr. Chen to be excellent in accurately diagnosing my condition. Earlier, he was cautious and recommended physical therapy for my shoulder. He did not rush me into any kind of surgery unless needed. He is friendly and put me at ease. I next felt he was in a rush during my office visit with him

Dr Dean Chen was my worker comp orthopedic surgeon for my torn meniscus. I normally don't leave reviews but after experiencing a pain free surgery i felt i had to share my outcome. He answer all of my questions before and after my arthroscopy surgery. His staff also deserves a lot credit for following up on any forms needed to get back to work. Dr Dean Again Thank You! for what you do

He is extremely condescending, rude, talked down to me. When he talked or asked questions~it was like I was on the stand in court. I do want to add that the office staff was wonderful! Polite and professional. Too bad they work for him.

Saw Dr.Chen for a short time,before he recommend Pain Management for my hip.

I fell and broke my big toe and tendons. The ER suggested I go to Dr. Chen the next day. I am on Medicare and he was great. I got right and after looking over the ex rays he gave me options. I chose surgery. I was treated so nice and he even called the next day to make sure I was ok and a couple days after that. I never had to take drugs for pain. He was great and my toe healed perfect. He listened to me! His office was always busy with patients and yet I never had to wait long.

Was a little concerned about seeing Dr. Chen based on the reviews but getting an appointment was easy and the location really worked for me plus he was recommended by my family doctor. I got a last minute appointment and was a work-in so I did have to wait a little longer than I wanted but it wasn't too bad. Dr Chen's staff was very personable and pleasant. Dr Chen did a very thorough examination and explained in detail his diagnosis. He listened and answered all of my questions. He was very patient and spent time to make sure I was comfortable with his answers. Didn't rush through the appointment at all. Would definitely recommend.
