Dr. Dean Bernell Shroyer, MD

Once Dr. Shroyer got past the idea that my issue was psychological, and that having trouble breathing wasn't because of a panic attack or anxiety and this was a clinical presentation over a long period of time, he was helpful and responsive. I felt like he did the appropriate work up to make sure that I wasn't in danger of a heart attack or something else. He probably went above and beyond. Being 45 and with a family history, the symptoms are frightening. Unfortunately, the problem still exists and we weren't able to solve it, but all of the acute possibilities were ruled out, which i am grateful for. He was open to continuing to explore, but being that the hospital sucks and at that point I knew I wasn't going to drop dead, I opted to go home and go from there. He spent a good amount of time with me, prior to my discharge, going over what my next steps would be, as I still have to figure out how to solve it or live with it. That was really helpful and above and beyond. I also… thought, once Dr. Shroyer got past the idea that it wasn't psychological, but truly clinical, he warmed up and had a really engaging bedside manner. He came across as very intelligent and not just book smart.
