Dr. Dean Patrick Sutherland, MD

Dr. Dean Sutherland is great. I have several medical issues and I see him for Parkinson’s because he’s a movement disorder specialist - and one of the best in this area. The staff has always been pleasant and helpful. Along with being an expert in his field, he’s kind and compassionate. I highly recommend him.

After some research specifically chose this doctor for tremor; first thing he said before examination was 'you don't look like you have parkinson's.' After reviewing a list of symptoms we brought he suggested we 'spent too much time on the internet and you can just about give yourself anything.' We spent a long time waiting for this appointment, drove over an hour each way and left with nothing. DX? tremor. Now at square one and have to find another neurologist.

Doctor and staff since transferring over to First Physicians Group they are poorly managed patient care is low priority.

I had originally seen Dr. Sutherland in 2006 for Neurological problems. At that time, I thought him extremely competent and caring. Time passed without the need to see him. I went to him recently again. He now passes his work to his PA who makes appointments with you only to have someone call the morining of the appointment to cancel saying she is “doing rounds”. After this happened 4 times, I told the doctor and he told me not to come back——there was nothing he could do for me. I went to another doctor who performed radiofrequency ablation, nerve conduction tests, physical therapy and am feeling better. I would not recommend him to anyone and find it laughable that he has a specialty in psychiatry. I had a terrible time getting my records and never did receive all of them. Arrogance.

The office staff is inept, rude, inconsiderate , the office staff is absolutely the worse.

I find it reprehensible when I call a Neurologist to set up an appointment because of dizziness, severe headaches, & hand tremors & I am told he must review my prior Neurologist's notes from my previous residence in NY. I explained to the appointment nurse that my NY visit was for Carpel Tunnel Syndrome, nothing to do with this problem & was told rudely that the doctor has to review all charts before visits.Beware, you could possible die before you get into this office. Never got to see doctor & now making another appointment.
