Dr. Debjani Mukherjee, MD

Dr. Mukherjee is the hospitalist for the floor where my son is a patient. He is profoundly disabled and cannot speak for himself, so I'm writing this review on his behalf as his mother and guardian. My son lives in a wonderful adult group home and his care is coordinated by a FT group of nurses. The Nurse Manager has been with the home for 10 years and knows my son extremely well. We have always collaborated on his care to make sure that we are on the same page. Because my son's medical history is complex and he cannot speak for himself, I asked that Dr. Mukherjee reach out to the Nurse Manager directly because she had expressed some reservations about the consistency of his care. In addition, she told me about the results of a CT scan that were different from what I had been told previously and acted like my questions about the discrepancy were warranted. She made assumptions that were both incorrect and unwarranted, did not contact the Nurse Manager as I requested,… and then acted like I had no business asking questions to begin with. I was unable to convey that I wasn't questioning her about the care my son was receiving. Rather, I wanted my questions answered and wanted her to share her conclusions and thoughts with the Nurse Manager for feedback. She simply refused.
