Dr. Hays was great—informative, thorough, and kind!

I have been a patient of Dr. Hays for @ 15 years now. She helped me through my 3 pregnancies, one with pretty substantial complications. Dr. Hay is genuine. She is caring and takes time to get to know her patients. I never feel rushed when I am with her and am comfortable asking her all questions. Her passion for her work comes through each and every visit! I wish she was a GP so I could see her more often:)

This was my first pregnancy and I was really excited to meet the doctor. I went in for my first appointment they took my height,weight, urine sample,and medical history. She came in introduced herself, she did a breast exam along with a Pap smear. That's all. She then sent me on my way. My next appointment wouldn't have been for another 4.5 weeks. I would have been 2 weeks into the second trimester. I felt uneasy as the days went by. I tried changing my appointment, so I could see doctor sooner but no such luck. I then just called a new practice, they got me in right away. First appointment , urine test, breast exam, BLOODWORK drawn, she tried to listen to the heartbeat with the Doppler machine. She got me in that day for an ultrasound on the same day, and discovered no heartbeat. I feel as though if Dr. Hay would have cared a little more about her patients by doing all the steps that the new dr did maybe there would have been a way to prevent such a devastating outcome.

I can't say enough nice things about Dr. Hay. She is warm, easy to talk to, and REAL. This is my first pregnancy and I like to know what is happening with my body, why it's happening, why I can/can't do certain things, etc. (Not questioning, just curious. It's a big deal and so fascinating!) She answers all of my questions patiently, and like she is speaking to a daughter or a friend. You can tell she gets REALLY excited about babies, and helping mothers just makes her happy. She has posed hard questions to me - about the extra testing for Downs, cystic fibrosis, etc - and I appreciated her honesty and respect for my intelligence & instincts as a (future) parent. Because of my weight, I needed to take the glucose test early, but she treated the whole situation as routine, and told me that she also needed to have the test done twice. There is no judgment whatsoever in Dr. Hay - she gives you facts and statistics, but can empathize with patients. The only thing is that… sometimes she talks very fast, and it can feel like she's in a rush. I think she just talks fast in general, and she's happy to write things down or repeat them if I need clarification.

Dr. Hay is wonderful! We are having our first baby and Dr. Hay has taken such good care of me. When she enters the room she puts all her focus on my care and I never feel rushed when I am with her and she makes me feel like I have all the time in the world with her. She always stops what she is doing and asks me if I have any questions for her and gives me her 100% attention to answer my questions. She has a great bed side manner and is always smiling, even when you can tell she is having a rough day. Dr. Hay is seriously the best doctor I have ever had in any field.

Maybe I got you on a bad day. You never once made any effort to get to know me before examining me. I didn't expect a half hour chat but a few minutes would have been appropiate.I found your manner cold and distant. I was left with the feeling that you didn't want me as your patient. I have not returned.

My wife has had problems with "normal intimate relations" for many years now. Dr. Deborah Hay recently performed a Dialation and Curettage procedure on her at Central Dupage Hospital. After the procedure, Dr. Hay talked to me about the D & C and just what she discovered. I listened attentively, and when the good doctor was finished I began to talk about our problem with "normal intimate relations."Of course I was happy that my 47 year old wife did not have visible signs of cancer, according to Dr. Hay. I breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing that, but then I wanted to to talk to her about "quality of life" issues instead of "life and death" issues.Some Ob/Gyn physicians might have cut me off or tried to change the subject, but Dr. Hay now listened attentively to me. I was able to say about everything I wanted to say about "our problem" and I don't think Deborah Hay looked at her watch even once !The following month my wife and I went back to Dr. Hay's office for follow-up care. … I could tell that Dr. Hay remembered my heartfelt confessions from the previous month. In fact, she wrote us a prescription for a special type of physical therapy offered by Dynamic Physical Therapy of West Chicago. It's an unconventional, but proven effective series of treatments meant to help women with pelvic pain and frigidity get back normal sexual functions.The owner of Dynamic Physical Therapy (April is her name) has only given my wife three treatments as of this date; however, already we have witnessed marked improvement in her sexual receptiveness. I'm confident that, in a few months, me and my spouse will once again be having "normal intimate relations" like we had ten years ago.Much thanks to Dr. Deborah Hay of Dupage Obstetrics and Gynecology, and also to "April," owner of Dynamic Physical Therapy.

Pleasant, laid-back, thorough and very accurate and specific in dx. I would definitly recommend her and I will be going back to see her again. Refreshing to find a gynocologist like Dr. Hay!

Have recommended Dr Hay to many of my friends and relatives. She is the choice for many of the nurses at Central DuPage Hospital and they know who is good.
