Dr. Deborah Louise Kaufman, DO

A wonderful experience. Dr Kaufman spends alot of time with her patients and she explains everything in detail.She is competent and knowledgable in her field. She seems to really care about her patient's well being.I highly recommend her!

Office staff was rude, made me pay up front because they "didn't know" whether or not my insurance was good even though they called the ins company were told the vist is covered under my plan. I needed a prescription renewal for birth control pills and the doc only allowed 6 months worth, said I must come back for another visit to get more pills. I've never heard of a doc prescribing less than a years worth for someone in my excellent health. I believe this doctor is acting in a very unethical and money motivated way.

My visit to Dr. Kaufman's office was great. She is extremely knowledgable in her field and I certainly did not feel like some of the other people that posted. The Receptionist was very pleasant as well as the Medical Assistant. My daughter also goes to Dr. Kaufman. She had a health issue that was handled promptly, with professionalism and caring. It is my hope that Dr. Kaufman will be in Sebastian for a long, long time. We need great doctors like her!

I've been to her for multiple health reasons and I couldn't be happier with the way I've been treated and with her medical knowledge. She gave me the facts about my medical situation and was so tactful and understanding. Her staff is wonderful as well! So very polite!

I am new to the area and was looking for a good doctor. A friend recommended Dr. Kaufman so I gave her a try, and I am so happy I did. She is caring and her staff is as well. I have read the other posts and I am sad to see that some people would bad mouth a doctor because they neglected to understand their insurance. I too have a deductible and it is my responsibility to know that ahead of time. Overall the doctor is very thorough and nice.

As a Dr, we look to them to be honest and serve our best interest. Give us all the facts so as the patient we can make the best choices. Kaufman does not have any of these qualities. They performed a procedure that was not covered under my insurance and neglected to tell me until after a month and half later at my follow up appt. Was never even notified by phone or letter prior to appt only to be denied my appt until the $300 bill was paid in full. To make matters worse, Kaufman wouldnt even speak to me to give me my results after insisting they give me my results. The staff proceeded to tell me, "It is not our responsibly to know what you are and aren't covered for." So after a painful and AVOIDABLE procedure, hit with a $300 bill and not given my results as to if I had cancer cells I would run far from this so called DR.

I can see both sides. Dr. Kauffman seems competent and her office has a nice zen like serenity however, there are posters all over the place telling you what Dr. Kauffman will and won't do. One thing Dr. Kauffman won't do is discuss hormone results with you if you are coming in for another reasons and the reason for this seems to be to maximize her revenues. The staff claims there is no time, but if you ask them to schedule a longer visit, no dice. Dr. Kauffman does it this way or that way...is the answer. She had some rude office staff but I think they are gone. Dr. Kauffman does not seem to put her patients welfare above her profits, at least not yet. Don't get me wrong, I believe doctors should be paid well for their hard work, but to have a patient come back twice to do what could have been done in one visit, is a real inconvenience. I have hopes for her though, she is young and new, and her office staff turnover may prove to create a better experience. Hopefully, they will… figure out how to bill for an office visit and a procedure at the same time. I will give it another few months before deciding whether to switch.

I totally disagree with the other posted comment. I found the customer service very good and the staff friendly and polite. Dr. Kaufman was excellant,she spent alot of time with me (unlike many others in the field)and not sure what follow-up didn't occur with the other "poster", but my follow-up was great.

The worst customer service ever received in a doctors office. They spoke to me like a child in such a condescending way. Poor follow up with no regard to the patient. Not looking out for the patients best interest!
