Dr. Deborah Celeste Kelly, MD

I had my first annual check-up with Dr. Kelly as a new patient. She was great! Very thorough and I did not feel like she was rushing through the exam. Also, the entire staff at Piedmont Internal Medicine was professional and friendly.

I was there for my annual physical scheduled at 12pm with Dr. Kelley, About 1225 I saw her leave. I asked the front desk who was I seeing and they informed it would be the NP, Mary. I was not notified of that prior to my visit. They said she would be right with me. I finally went back about 1247pm. She said that I look frustrated. I informed her she was late and no one informed she was running behind. She said she wasn't that late. And that I should be understanding because she had to spend more time with another patient. Mary did not review my chart before I went in the room and I had to tell her why I was there. She blew a lot of stuff off., i.e..., elevated b/p, low vitamin d, anemia, all the referrals that were completed prior to my visit. . I am in the healthcare field and hold a Professional license. She ordered an EKG and the EKG read that I was having an heart attack. The person who performed the EKG did not apply the leads properly. Then I had to have lab drawn and was sent… to the lab room, where the lab person, or whoever she was, was rude and had me wait, while she just sit and listen to reggae music. I asked how much longer, and she said in a minute. After ten minutes went by, I sat in the chair and asked her name and she refused to tell me her name and said I did not need to know it. NOW whenever you are doing a procedure on a patient you must identify yourself and explain the procedure. So I asked her to get me someone else to draw my blood, she refused. So I saw someone in the hallway and asked her to do it and she did. The ancillary staff is rude and incompetent. The NP is prejudice and talks down to people and not prepared. I would never go back to this office and would not recommend it to anyone. I am also filing a grievance. Patients should never be treated that way. I found Dr. Kelly through my insurance's list and she turned out to be great. She asked questions, allowed me to talk and was quick and clear throughout the whole appointment. She gave multiple references to other doctors in the area I needed. The office was organized and clean and everyone was very nice.

Intelligent, engages easily and asks appropriate questions (drives me nuts when doctors don't read your charts, etc, and you repeat the same basic info again and again), efficient.Love her and her direct staff; billing staff could be more professional and do a better job (too many mistakes, and no desire to create a smoother system to reduce mistakes). Getting an appointment can a little time, so schedule in advance for yearly exams.

Dr. Kelly is condescending, cold and generally off-putting. She does not take any time with you to explain test results, barely will answer questions without an "attitude". I agree with what another reviewer said--she is quick to refer you to a specialist without a moments thought. I've gotten referred almost everytime I've gone to see her-it's ridiculous. If you are in need of someone who actually cares about what's going on with you, who is empathetic and an excellent diagnostician, do not see Dr. Kelly!

I had not seen Dr. Kelly in more years that her staff considered to be an "active" patient. Having severe hip pain and called (and made) an appointment. Received call back that because it had been so long I was no longer considered a patient. I have just joined a Medicare insurance plan. - and was subsequently told that she was taking new patients, but not new Medicare patients. Would not even see me when I offered to pay out of pocket. Bad medicine and a mark of a bad doctor, or at the very least a bad practice. Now I am wondering why I bothered with enrolling in my new insurance plan at all!

Dr. Kelly's office gave me a drug in which I have a known allergy. When I complained (which is my right), Dr. Kelly was offended that I dare question her. Her manner is argumentative is rude, arrogant and condescending. She also works when she feels like it so good luck getting an appointment if you have a time sensitive need. She loves to order unnecessary tests to hike her fees. Her record of misdiagnosis was highly concerning. If you seek treatment from an ethical physician who puts patient care first, this is NOT the practice. I think the ratings posted on her website were falsified.

DR.KELLY, IS GREAT!!!I live out of town now but she is still my doctor. Any question I need to know she always have my folder avilable.The staff is Great and her assist. is one of a kind. We need more doctors like DR.KELLY

The doctors have all their physicians assistants contact you with results. The majority of which have no idea what the results mean. Doctors do not return phone calls. Office has not sent my prescription for cholesteral medicine for 2 WEEKS. I am still trying to get a prescription sent to my online pharmacy. Dr. Wommack, who backs up Dr. Kelly PROMISED me it would be done, and it has not been. The only staff person who was kind and competent left the practice, no wonder. DO NOT USE THIS PRACTICE!
