Dr. Debra Lynne Mcallister

I first met her in 1999 when I was pregnant with our daughter. She was a high risk pregnancy and was ultimately delivered C section. She did an excellent job. She is also my sister’s Dr. Fast forward to 2018 and she performed a full hysterectomy on me. She did an excellent job and is very professional. She has had my life and my daughters life in her hands and I would choose her if I had to do any of it again.

I had a first appointment today with Dr. McAllister for an in-office minor procedure and I found her to be kind, caring, great bedside manner, and very comforting during my appointment. She took the time to answer all my questions and I left her office feeling as if I had received expert care.

I almost died after my hysterectomy with Dr Debra McAllister. She poked a hole in my bladder during surgery and my bladder has never been the same. After surgery I was in the hospital for ten days. I developed an infection which was almost septic and I had to be operated on for a second time in an emergency surgery. I also believe my infection was caused by poor hospital conditions at Good Samaritan hospital in Puyallup, Wa. Save yourself some pain and trouble and find a different doctor to perform your hysterectomy and get a second opinion.

I'm cracking up as I'm reading all these comments about how awful she is. My experience with her goes back to 2010, and I still don't like her. She did a laparoscopy for me to determine if I had Endometriosis. I did. When I went back to her 8 months later to tell her my symptoms came back worse than before, she treated me as if I was making it up to get pain meds. It was almost as if she was offended that I dare suggest she didn't heal me completely (for those that don't know, there's no such thing as getting rid of Endo. It just keeps coming back). As stated by others, her mannerism sucks. She an awful person, not friendly, not approachable, makes you feel like an idiot. I don't know how anyone could possibly have a good experience with her, but congrats if you're one of the few. She doesn't belong in the medical field dealing with patients face to face. I do not recommend seeing her.

Dr Mcallister was my OB when I was pregnant with my daughter. This was my first pregnancy so of course I had questions. She has no personality and made me feel like an idiot any time I had a question. A year after I had my daughter I had the IUD put in. She pierce my cervix and the IUD ended up in my abdomen. I had horrible pain for 1 week.I ended up in the er and had to have surgery to remove it. Leaving me with a huge bill. Multicare and & Dr. Mcallister wont own up to the mistake.

I went to her for my second pregnancy which was fine. She was very to the point which I don't mind. However, I inquired about a tubal ligation at my 6week postpartum check up and was informed she only does tubals with a metal clip. I asked her what the clip was made of as I'm allergic to nickel and inquired about being able to have an mri with them in my body etc. I was told they are fine with all imaging and they are made of titanium. I went ahead with the procedure. Within a month and a half I started having joint pain followed by hair loss, unusually painful breasts, cystic acne, phantom smells, extreme fatigue, heavy bleeding and spotting between periods. My family dr ran many tests which were all negative. When I saw Dr Mcallister for the heavy bleeding and spotting she said it was my body adjusting to not being on birth control. I reminded her I hadn't used birth control in over 6 years. She then suggested that I should start using it again to help with my symptoms. I reminded… her that birth control makes my skin condition worse which is why I chose a permanent supposedly non hormonal alternative. Fast forward a year and my symptoms are not better and I now have burning pain and cramps daily, so I contacted cooper surgical (the makers of filshie clips used for my tubal ligation) and find out the silicone lining of the clip contains nickel and they recommend a patch test before surgery to check for hypersensitivity. I would have never risked the procedure knowing this!!!

Ok. I love Dr. McAllister!! I am an educated medical provider, and I have a lot of questions. I jump from question to question, topic to topic...in the middle of her answers, and she rolls with. She tells you risks, statistics, facts, and her recommendations, and often they are NOT what we want to hear, but at the end of the day, I want my Dr. to give me their opinion. She gave me an excellent C-section, supported me through a miscarriage, and I cant wait to have her be my Dr. again!

Her bedside manner is despicable as a doctor. Her treatment of state medical receivers is disgusting!

Found out I was pregnant and she was the earliest appt available (figures). In two months my husband and I had seen her twice. She made us feel really dumb and that our questions were absurd. We felt rushed every time and I was scared to ask her questions due to her making me feel dumb for even asking. (Even though this is my first pregnancy so I have lots of questions) her assistant Jennifer isn't any better. One out of the two times I saw Mcallister she put the Doppler on me for maybe 1-2 seconds - we didn't get to hear the heartbeat or anything and that's one of the most happiest moments for my husband and I is hearing that.. So I switched doctors at 16 wks (I am now 29 wks) and so happy that we switched. That office is just way to busy so everything is so rushed. SOOOO glad we switched doctors.

I scheduled an appointment for an overdue IUD removal before I read any reviews on Dr. McAllister. After I read them, I was scared to death to have the appointment but it was an IUD that needed removed NOW. I found Dr. McAllister to be friendly, open and personable. She answered all my questions, made sure she familiarized herself with my personal and family history of various reproductive cancers and put me at ease. She discussed with me, at length, different methods of permanent birth control and printed out information on each for me to take home. I would definitely recommend this doctor.
