I herniated a disk in my cervical spine in the midst of a horrible health crisis. I saw two very well known neurosurgeons in NY city prior to having a consultation with Dr. Petrucci. I was sick and worn out by a constant pain. Dr. Petrucci spent a lot of time with me explaining the rational of a particular surgical approach. I felt at ease and knew immediately that I would have my procedure done only with her. She held my hand from the beginning to my successful recovery. Dr. Petrucci has outstanding bed side manners. She is a brilliant and compassionate neurosurgeon.

SHE WAS AMAZING FROM THE MOMENT I MET HER FOR THE CONSULATION. WHEN SHE RECOMMENDED SURGERY I WAS SO AFRAID BUT SHE EASED MY MIND IN A MATTER OF MINUTES EXPLAINED THE WHOLE PROCEDURE FROM BEGINNING TO END. SURGERY WENT GREAT AND MY FOLLOW UPS HAVE BEEN GREAT VISITS HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I just finished my last appointment with Dr. Petrucci. Overall, I was very happy with my experience with her since she made this surgery experience very easy. I had a herniated disc at L5-6, and it caused a weakness on my right foot (aka foot drop) and tinglingness on my right leg. I did all conservative treatment such as cortisone shots and PT, but unfortunately nothing worked. I was very afraid of a spine surgery, but there was no option left other than living with this weakness on my foot and tingling all over my right leg. I started thinking about having a surgery and visited three surgeons. All of the doctors were wonderful, but she was outstanding. She was the last doctor I saw during this consultation phase. The first appointment with her was very thourough (she spent almost one hour with me), she explained my situation very well so I could understand very easily, so she made my decision making very easy (I was still fighting inside to or not to have a surgey after… seeing two doctors ). Once I decided to do it, since she recommended a surgery ASAP, she squeezed me in the following week. I had a surgery within a week from the first appointment with her. All of her staff at the Greenwich hospital were very nice and professional as well, so the day of the surgery went very well. Follow-up appointments were all good. My symptoms were almost all gone, and I gained back 90% of strength on my foot (this is depending on an individual). I really appreciate all she did for me. Although it was tough that I had to expereicne this medical condition and had to go through a surgery, I'm happy that I did it with Dr. Petrucci. If you have to go through the same situation, I highly recomend Dr. Petrucci. She makes our rough journey much easier.
