Only go if you are prepared to schedule your surgery as soon as she's available. If you're just seeking information to help you make an informed decision about your care, you may do better to talk to someone else. Her PA mentioned that Dr. Blake does about 700 full hip replacements per year. She also does knee replacement and other less-invasive surgeries as well. While it's great to have an experienced surgeon, do the math. She has zero patience if you're not scalpel-ready.

I found Dr. Blake to be an attentive and caring physician. She had to deal with my children who all were concerned about the quality of care I would have. She took the time to discuss with them the surgical and aftercare treatment that I would need. Seeing that my children all think that they need to take control of my health needs and behave as though they were my parent. Dr. Blake was able to answer all their questions and spent time answering all their questions as well as soothing their anxiety. The surgery ended up be far more painful then I expected and for the first 72 hours I was in need of a considerable amount of hands on care as I was unable to cope with the post- surgical pain. Dr. Blake was always available and came each morning to check on me. She also addressed a change in pain management which included management of my own anxiety as well as pain. After the intervention I was able to gain a full night's sleep and when ready to transfer to a… nursing facility , I could get up with assistace and a walker to be discharged from the hospital. I have since recovered from the surgery and with in 7 weeks had close to 100 percent flexability in my knee that had surgery. I also want to add that Dr. Blake did an excellent job of closing the insision on my knee and it allowed for me to progress in physical therpy with out loosing or opening of the sutures. Her excellent surgical skills showes as I have only a thin suture line on my knee. I would not hesitate in recommending Dr. Blake to anyone, as a matter of fact, I have on a number of occasions suggested to people who knew that they could not avoid knee replacement to obtain Dr. Blake as their surgeon . Today. having a much better understanding and awareness of the procedure and techniques of knee replacement, can only stand back in admiration of Dr. Blake, she is an amazing and incredable women. I have grown to love her and thank God that she was the first surgeon to treat the severe arthritis of my knee. L. J. Hyland

I've been debating whether to leave a review because my experience was so unsettling that I've avoided wanting to speak up. Basically, Dr. Blake wanted to perform a knee replacement when one wasn't remotely needed. I'd come in with an inflamed, swollen knee and, after a first visit during which she was kind and patient, she pushed during a second visit -- which was to discuss an MRI that she wound up waving off with little explanation -- that there was no hope and when did I want to schedule surgery. She was curt and dismissive about less invasive options, which gave me enough pause to take a break on pursuing a remedy. Within two weeks after my second visit my knee (injured possibly due to over-exercise) cleared up on its own. My knee is perfectly fine today. Word to the wise: See Dr. Blake if you wish, but please, seek a second opinion!

Four appointments with Dr. Blake for $160 co-pay. She gave me a knee replacement brochure at my first appointment. She said certain steps needed to be followed for insurance purposes...PT, steroid injection, 3 knee lubricant injections, and an MRI. Implication being knee replacement is imminent. Fourth appointment, and she's been at least an hour late for each appointment. She finally understands that the injections just hurt and provide no relief and tells me I don't need the last shot. Awesome; I just need a new knee. Now she says that we "need a scope" of my knee, which means she needs pics of the torn cartilage and meniscus to get insurance to pay for the surgery. I told her at the beginning of this process that I already had a menisectomy (& the MRI showed torn meniscus and cartilage). For crying out loud, we need pics of missing and torn stuff. Such an enormous frustration and complete waste of time.

I would recommend Dr. Blake for orthopedic surgery with no reservations— based on my own experience as well as testimonials from other patients.

Not only does Dr. Blake deserve the 5 stars so does the entire staff. All the way from per-op thru surgery and post- op. Although I am still in the healing process I was able to get back to work just under 8 weeks. The communication was top notch. Dr. Blake and or staff are there for your every need. I have had a fantastic experience with Dr Blake. She has been clear, attentive, friendly on every occasion. I have found her to be extremely thorough and intent on making sure I had a good experience at every step of the process. My knee is healing beautifully after 3 months.

Dr. Blake is the very best. I was in extreme pain prior to my surgery. Very quick recovery and awesome follow-up visits. Dr. Blake made my life comfortable again. She is also very down to earth and has a great bedside manner. Love her!
