Denise Akimi Ishimaru, MD

Dr. Ishimaru will greatly be missed. She was by far the best OB in her OB group. She was attentive, patient and engaging.

I was very happy with the care of my provider and team. However, I was surprised to learn upon check out that she was leaving the practice. I only found out because I saw a stack of letters in the waiting area. I wish the provider would have mentioned that during our visit. I was also never notified by mail that she was leaving. That would have been nice to know in advance so that I could ask the provider the appropriate questions for transferring care. I was told that the letter would be sent to me at a later date but I still have not received it. The letter is dated July 29th, 2026 which is a month earlier. Communication about this should have been handled better.

I waited six months for my appointment because Dr. Ishimaru is excellent and very much sought after by other patients. I could have gotten an appointment with another doctor within a week

Dr. Ishimaru is exceptional in her caregiving and medical expertise. She is empathetic and takes her time to converse with you instead of dictating her thoughts. I will miss having her as my gynecologist. On a personal note, when she spoke to me about my breast cancer diagnosis, what she shared was invaluable advice when I sought treatment and now my recovery.

Dr Ishimaru is one of the best providers I have ever had. She is a safe place. She listens and provides thoughtful response. She is gentle and caring and knowledgeable and thorough. She provides tests or referrals if necessary.

She did two exams in one visit. That's great! It took 3 months with my problem before she was available for an appointment. I wish that could have been within at least two weeks since I had a problem, although not emergent.

Dr. Ishimaru is the best, could not be happier with her care.

The provider, Dr. Ishimaru, is always wonderful. It seems to be hard to describe how special she is. However, I was told that I was not able to make an appointment for the next annual check due to some reason like she is going to move or something like that. Is it true? I am so nervous if I could find another doctor like Dr. Ishimaru, who has been so special.

Dr. Ishimaru is an amazing doctor! Her knowledge, skills, and empathy are untouchable! She delivered both my babies in which I had complications during delivery. She always kept me informed and calm. She's so amazing that I hate giving a great review because when I need her she's hard to schedule with. Lol. But the review is well deserved! I admire her patience and grateful ya'll have a OBGYN like her! She's a miracle worker and blessing!
