Derek Magnuson, PA

Derek Magnuson, PA is a certified family medicine physician assistant serving patients in Tampa, Florida. As your physician assistant, he will work closely with you and listen attentively to your health concerns and goals. After all, Derek believes it’s through empathy and understanding that patient and provider can come together to create a plan that supports you on your path to whole health.

Derek offers comprehensive care for adolescents, adults and older patients. He diagnoses and treats acute injuries and illnesses, such as flu, strep throat, sprains, strains and more. Derek also partners with his patients to manage chronic conditions, like diabetes or high blood pressure. But, his patients know him for much more than the experienced care he provides: He is respected for his professionalism, friendliness and willingness to spend time reviewing and discussing diagnoses, test results and lifestyle choices that can make a big impact on your body, mind and spirit.

Fluent in both …English and Spanish, Derek has put his language and medical skills to good work as a past volunteer with the National Peace Corps. He holds a Master of Science in Clinical Medical Science from Barry University, located in Miami Shores, Florida.
