Dr. Derek Lee Snook, MD

I hurt my back and basically stopped walking. I saw a dr who had no clue as to what was wrong with me. Then my neighbor referred me to Dr Snook. He was the only Dr who listened to me and all my concerns. He told me that my spine was slipping and I need surgery. I’ve gone back to work as a nurse. With PT and surgery I’m walking everyday.

I was referred to Dr Snook from Dr Morris at New Albany as an injection in my hip did not help. I saw Dr Snook for all of 5 minutes, he looked at my xrays and said I needed to try physical Therapy. I went to PT faithfully, my therapist wrote to him asking for a another prescription for a different area, of which he did not reply, I was dismissed after 8 sessions as therapy was not helping, only adding additional pain. A report was sent from my PT 4 weeks ago and I have not received any contact at all from Dr Snook.

Dr. Snook is the Bomb :) Honestly, he literally saved my daughter's life. She had severe scoliosis with a double curve (like a big S) an 83 thoracic & 30+ lumbar degree angle. It was so bad that her rib cage was being pulled away from her spine. I said Good Luck at 8:00 am & didn't see her again until 9:00 pm that night. I would highly recommend him with & I literally trusted him with my daughter's life. That was in 2006, she was only 13. This year she will be turning 23 :)

I really appreciate Dr. Snook diagnosing my condition and also setting me up with Dr David Ryan a terrific chiropractor.

Please get a second opinion if this surgeon has said you need surgery!! My husband who is 45 and very fit went to see him and was told he absolutely had to have a lamenectomy after seeing the mri . This man has a bedside manner of a rattlesnake. A friend of my husbands is a surgeon as well so he asked him who he would recommend in the neurologist field and he said Dr. B in Westerville. Well he saw this surgeon today and he said absolutely not to surgery at my husbands age and good health without trying steroids and therapy first!! He expects his herniation to heal completely without surgery.. $$$$ is my best guess especially after seeing all these horrible reviews!!

I suffered an injury to my back after a car accident and fractured and dislocated my tailbone. After 2.5 months of physical therapy I was unable able to walk without my sciatic nerve shooting pain down my legs. The pain is usually worse early morning and by 3 pm. I'm not big on narcs so just take otc to help amd ice and heat my back. After 8 months the pain still lingers endlessly. I went to go see Dr. Snook to discuss spinal injections since it had help with my knee and wrist injury. He scheduled a MRI to see if there was any other damage and found that I have disc desiccation and a herniated disc causing spinal stenosis. After the injection I came back for a follow-up. I explained to him the many adverse effects the shot had on me and was completely dismissed. He said I can't help you anymore just ice heat take otc and do more when i could do less when i couldn't....Seriously!!!! I could had keep all my money and just do what i had been all along!!! Also, after much research I… discovered what i experienced as side effects were quite common for women. How could he not know this!!! He is the Dr for Petes sake. He should have disclosed there effects and at least given me the option....highly not recommend Dr. Derek Snook.

I would never recommend dr snook. Nice only if you consent to surgery. Sfter surgery npt so interested. Promised no pain when I wake up after surgery. Terrible pain 4 months later. Find someone else

Stay away!! Refuses to fill out required paperwork for insurance or Worker's Compensation. Terrible "physician."

I was experiencing terrible back pain and all this dr. said was, why are you here seeing me? I should have read his reviews before I accepted the appointment. Sad, very sad!

My family doctor's mother had back surgery done by Dr. Snook so I felt confident when he recommended Snook to do my surgery. My first visit to Dr. Snook was timely, professional and he was courteous. He gave me options other then surgery but I opted to have surgery. He performed a complete laminectomy and diskectomy on my lower back. My follow-up office visits were timely, professional and pleasant. I would recommend him to anyone that needed spine surgery.
