My experience with Dr. Erdmann has been what I hoped it to be. Incredibly knowledgeable and informed, his professionalism matches his level of care. Dr. Erdmann was a referral to me from my oncology doctor when I was going through cancer last year. Happy to say I’m cancer free now; God is always good. He preformed three major surgeries. One on my left wrist, one on my right foot, and the last one on my right leg. It is truly amazing all the plastic surgery he performed; it’s pretty neat all that they can do. Dr. Erdmann through out the whole process was very professional, listened to me, and gave me a an accurate game plan for what surgery and recovery would look like. His attention to detail and confidence in his many skills as a doctor are second to none. I would recommend him to anyone in the world and am so grateful I was referred to him!

As a physician myself, I do not give praise lightly. I am a medical oncologist, and when I found myself needing surgery, I was understandably apprehensive—particularly about undergoing anesthesia and possible intubation. Although the Duke system did not appear to show an open clinic slot with him for the type of new patient appointment I needed, I emailed Dr. Detlev Erdmann directly, and he responded almost immediately. He connected me with his wonderful office secretary, Wendy, who helped everything move forward smoothly and efficiently. From the very first interaction, Dr. Erdmann inspired confidence. He was kind, composed, and reassuring in clinic, and equally impressive on the day of surgery. His entire team worked like a symphony—every person seemed to know exactly what to do, and the process felt seamless from start to finish. What stood out most to me was how remarkably well managed the entire experience was. While I was still in the pre-op area, I was given medication, and… when I woke up, I genuinely thought the operation had not yet happened. I looked at the nurse and my brother-in-law, who were still there in the same positions, and said that we should go ahead and head to the OR. To my amazement, they pointed to my shoulder and told me the surgery was already over. As a doctor, I can say that patients judge surgical care not only by the technical result, but by the whole experience—responsiveness, confidence, pain control, efficiency, functional outcome, and how smoothly everything is coordinated. By every one of those measures, Dr. Erdmann and his team were outstanding. I could not have imagined a better or more streamlined process. It exceeded my expectations, and I would recommend Dr. Erdmann to anyone without an iota of hesitation.

Dr. Erdmann did a tummy tuck and lipo for me! Nervous doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt. The unknown! The pain! The dreaded new belly button! The what ifs! He answered ALL of my questions (multiple times, lol)! He always made me feel at ease! He TRULY takes pride in his work! I am ECSTATIC with my results! It is unreal the difference in my body before and right after surgery and it keeps getting better!!! And the belly button is so cute! My results are better than I could ever imagine!
