Dr. Diane Jean Devines, MD

I think as to compared to other doctors I have seen Dr. Devienes is ok. When I first meet her the first several times I did think she was a tad uninformed in her field and honestly 'air headed'. My first visit I thought would be longer than 15 minutes. After several more times of seeing her I realise it isn't her fault but all the people she does see. There is no caring in a place like this. However let me also say that during a hard time she did try to adapt for me, although she was way off the mark and didn't work, most doctors will not try to do this. They see all patients as fitting a mold that isn't individualistic. I have to give her credit for trying when others wouldn't have. I do feel that either a new approach and a 'refreasher' in topics is needed for everyone she works with for when one gets to fit into that mold of 'everyone has to fit into the critereia in a certain way', mental health is never to be just one way and if this approach was a bit better than I think care… would be better, Also she works at a clinic, way too many people, not enough real time to see anyone. Everyones time is limited. I find her to be a really nice person who has knowledge and some skill but like the rest of us need to break out of our daily way and see things from a different perspective which I honestly see her trying to do and doing at times, she just isn't asking the people that could help her in pin pointing that knowledge the most and that is the people she sees,not always the 'team' of clinictians she works with for they to fit into the mold they try to put others into. I don't like molds or labels, we are people all of us. Another comment implied she was 'elite or uppity' I honestly don't see that,I see her as very human and down to earth, even willing to adapt herself to relate to others on a mutual field of understanding, help others and accominate them even if it means giving up something of hers or time. I guess one just has to form ones own opinion and I am still forming mine and it does change at times. Overall depending on personality and need she is competiant and had the knowledge. Afraid to approach someone always plays into it. We all have bad days and it shows more days than others. Perspective is not always one sided.

Dr. Deveines is the best. She is a great listener and she gives helpful advice.

I saw this doctor for my depression She gave me medication but she also spent time talking about exercise, my diet, my caffeine intake, smoking and gave me ideas about what I could do to help myself so I might not have to depend on medicine.

I came to see this doctor for help with my anxiety and within 5 minutes she managed to turn me off to seeking any help from any psych ever again. She point blank accused me of being a drug addict. I have insomnia and hadn't slept in well over 24 hours and just came off a double shift and she took my tired appearance and burning red eyes as "proof I was on something" and cancelled my appointment and told me not to come back until I was not high. What a worthless quack! She had a horrible bedside manner, never let me complete a sentence or offer any explanation as to why I was tired and blurry eyed. She only talked at me; never TO me. I left her office felling violated and enraged. I will not set foot in her office ever again nor any hospital where she is staffed. Very elitist, arrogant, impolite and just plain unprofessional
