Dr. Dinu Gertrud Mistry, MD

My friend is a surgical tech that works with most of the surgeons in the Boise area so I asked her for an unbiased recommendation of who is the best. She didn’t pause for even a second and told me without question Dr Mistry is the best surgeon in the t Boise area and that is who she would go to. Just so you know I don’t give out 5 stars easily- but Dr Mistry deserves it. Her clinic is small and her staff is friendly and personable. My surgery went as well as could possibly be expected with results that were better than my last surgeon. She is not a risk taker - she takes her time and does it right and emphasizes minimal scarring and a natural look. All things that are important to me. I’m a high anxiety person - I don’t need anyone taking a risk with my body. My recovery was faster than expected and 9 months post opp I look and feel 100%. She stressed the importance of my down time and not rushing my recovery so that I could plan for taking enough time off of work and to gather my… village to help with the kids. I think that was sound advice and the results show it! I would absolutely without hesitation recommend Dr Mistry.

After years waiting to have a breast reduction, I finally decided to do it. I was referred to Dr. Mistry by my OB and found it easy to schedule an appointment. My situation required me to wait an extended period of time before our first visit, but it was worth the wait. Every appointment that followed was great. Dr. Mistry spent a great deal of time with me going over each aspect of the surgery, possible outcomes, and recovery. This surgery is not for the faint of heart, but Dr. Mistry and her staff always made sure I was informed and comfortable. The surgery went wondeffo and the results are amazing. My follow up care was fantastic, they gentle nature the staff has make you feel cared for and comfortable. I would recommend Dr. Mistry to anyone seeking the same surgery. I'm grateful everyday that I did it.

I couldn't have been happier with the treatment that I received from Dr. Mistry and her staff. Friendly, professional, compassionate and very organized. Both my surgeries went well considering I am 75 years old. I couldn't be more pleased and would recommend Dr. Mistry and her staff to anyone that needs breast reconstruction surgery.

I can say that my overall experience with Dr. Mistry was amazing. She is a great Doctor that is so knowledgeable about her field of expertise. I have anxiety disorder and I am always scared about medical stuffs but with her I felt relaxed and secured. She really took time to answer all my questions and shed light to any gray areas I had in mind. She has a great staff too. I will surely recommend her to family and friends....

After Dr. Dinu Mistry performed surgery on me years ago, I chose to consult with her about reconstructive surgery after recently being diagnosed with breast cancer, undergoing bilateral mastectomies, followed by 30 difficult cancer treatments. I BEAT breast cancer! I had no reason not to believe that #1 as a woman and #2 as my physician, Dr. Dinu Mistry would be compassionate and happy to help me. Up until this encounter, every other healthcare professional along my cancer 'journey' has been absolutely amazing. I called her office to schedule an appointment but her office staff told me that Dr. Mistry told them to tell me "find another surgeon" siting the following two reasons: 1) "There was 'some kind' of past money issue." The history from my past encounter with Dr. Mistry is I was absolutely told by her staff that I would not be charged for an initial consultation; however, I was subsequently billed. I questioned it but ultimately paid in full in a timely manner… even though a friend of mine had the same type of consultation and was not charged and an online reviewer patient indicated the same. 2) "You failed to schedule your final follow-up appointment that you were instructed to do within 3 weeks after your last follow-up visit." I was shocked, heartbroken and confused. Later that day, I called the office and explained to the staff member that I would like to at least have the opportunity to speak with Dr. Mistry in order to clear up my confusion and any misunderstandings. The reply was an empathetic but firm, "I can tell you right now, that is NOT going to happen." I was in tears when I got off the phone. I could not believe how poorly I was being treated. A couple of days later, I received a letter from Dr. Mistry (standard business practice to document/formalize a physician's dismissal of patients from their practice.) She stated in the letter that dismissing me from her practice was not "punitive" but in fact, that's exactly how it feels due to the fact that she coldly severed our doctor/patient relationship based on her incorrect assumption (see below), followed by her refusal to grant me the decency and respect of a few minutes of her time. She said in the letter that she had "no choice but to ASSUME that I was displeased and sought care elsewhere" simply because I did not reschedule that final appointment with her. She certainly had a choice not to make that wrong assumption; she could have simply talked with me. At NO time was it explained to me that I could be dismissed if I didn't schedule my last follow-up appointment. I found out years later when I called her office and she shut the door on me. I did not "seek medical care elsewhere" and I did not schedule a final appointment with her because I was confident that I was fully recovered; had I not been, I certainly would have scheduled time with her. There would have been no reason not to. Dr. Mistry's unyielding refusal to spend a few minutes with me is heartless. This is especially painful during this most difficult time of my life when I am trying to put the pieces back together as a woman, mother and wife after fighting so hard to beat the cancer. In a sense, I feel kicked to the curb, disrespected and discarded. She suggested to me to contact Dr. Mark Wigod or Dr. Sue Hegstad for my medical needs, as she said said are both excellent reconstructive surgeons. On a side but much more important note - please check your breasts regularly, I promise it is worth it :0). I hope that you will never join me as a Pink Ribbon sister and I also hope that you are always compassionately treated by all healthcare professionals, as the genuinely loving support that was and continues to be extended to me makes a huge difference.

Dr Mistry did a great job with a botched surgery from another surgeon. I am forever greatful!! She is the best and her her office and staff are wonderful.

Dr Mistry and her staff will always be such a blessing to me. When I needed someone to give me peace of mind Dr Mistry and her staff did that and more for me . I needed someone to trust that would care about me and be compassionate and honest . I got that from the first time I met Dr. Mistry. She always gave me hope because of her honest , confident and positive nature. She explained every step to me and I always knew she was a confident and very capable doctor. She always was there to answer my many questions. She is very experienced and wants to do her best for you. She cares about her patients and I always felt that . I am very pleased with the breast reconstruction she did for me. Every app I went to see her I left feeling good and that I made the best choice picking her to be my Dr. I will always be very grateful to her . I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a very experienced , talented and caring doctor.

Dr Mistry left me feeling like she really cared about me and not about just getting another paycheck. She seemed genuinely concerned about my well being and what was best for me as a whole person.

I cant say enough positive words to express how amazing Dr. Mistry and her team of professions are. I would recommend everyone to her. She is the absolute best!
