Bad experience.

Worst Doctor I ever saw. Not compassionate and always in a hurry. Went for compression fracture and severe pain. Kept giving me meds and saying wait. Finally did the cement injections in two fractures. Finally x-rayed and said I had two compression fractures but I actually had five. Another doctors x- rays proved that.

At first visit, my lower back pain had become unbearable. My family Dr sent me there. He did X-rays and MRI. Told me he could fix my back. I had the surgery. After about two weeks, drainage had changed color. Called and went in. He said I was fine. That was on Wednesday by Saturday I was talking out of my head and acting crazy. My children took me to the hospital. I almost died. I had to really bad infection. They did surgery again. I was in ICU for more than a week. Thanks to the Lord I don't remember any of it. I had a total of 6 surgerys and on antibiotics for the rest of my life. The infection was so bad that they also had to cut my stomach measles and lay them back to put in drains. I had two drains in front and a drain pump in my back. To say the least. I pray no one has to go though that. It has changed my life permanent. I'm no longer able to work. I have lost everything, house and all. I was told I would be back to work in 6-8 weeks. He said the infection came from the… hardware that was put in my back. I'm in worse pain now. I walk bent over can not straighten up my back. One of the other doctors in the group did some of the last surgerys or I may not be here. Please don't let him do surgery on you. Find another doctor and do research on them. My live is for ever changed. By the grace of God I'm still here! How this helps you

Great doctor but poor bedside manner.

He is brief and likes to get to the point, but he is good.

The total time for the consultation was about five Min. I didn't like his demeanor, totally bad attitude , seemed to hate his job. After the surgery an elderly nurse came into my room and apologized for the excessive blood loss. She prayed for me and explained that Dr. Franzen did not make the incision large enough to remove all the bone. I had suffered with severe pain for six years. I lost 75 lbs and developed Graves disease due to the injury to my Thyroid and Calcium Glands. The Dr. that had to remove my thyroid said that he had butchered all the glands and was very near to death if not for a nurse Practitioner that knew there was something other than pain that caused the Graves Disease. Look it up Graves Disease and it will show what I was going through because of this incompetent so called Dr.

I cannot even explain how much Dr. Franzen ruined my mothers life! sShe wnet in with back pain....he said if he did neck surgery her back would not hurt anymore. she had the surgery and then he had to do a second surgery due to what he called a bone chip. In other words...his fault! My mom has lived in severe pain since the surgery and is going to another dr and will probably have to have surgery again since dr franzen obviously didn't fix the problem. He was rude and acted like my mom was a bother to him every time she saw him. Never spent more then 5 mins with her. DO NOT go to this doctor....he will ruin your life too!

Has the bedside manner of a roofing shingle...
