Dr. Dolora A Dossi, PhD

Dolora misdiagnosed me with BPD when I actually had Bipolar disorder which caused me to be on ssris for a year and a half (fuel to a fire for someone with bipolar disorder). Then she gaslit me and told me I didn't want to get better and discharged me from care without any time to establish care elsewhere. That put me in an extremely dangerous position. She could've just said she wasn't equipped to deal with serious mental health conditions but instead she laid the blame solely on me. She also overshared about her son, ex husband, and work to the point that there often wasn't time to deal with what I needed to talk about. Plus you need to expect a 30min-1hr wait for every appointment.

I saw Dr. Dossi on and off for a few years. Very helpful, very personable, kind, compassionate.

Gave terrible advice and made the entire session about herself.

She misdiagnosed me for multiple years which led to my condition getting progressively worse until she literally bailed on me while I was suicidal. She also broke hippa at least once to call my ex boyfriend during a crisis (I had not signed a release). Furthermore, she lacks boundaries and often takes over sessions with her own problems. The kicker? I’m a sexual assault survivor and she told me to talk to her husband (who at the time had been a professor at the college I’d been going to, and unbeknownst to me had been having sex with students). Dolora knew this and still sent me to talk to him. I’d avoid her at all costs.

She literally left me in the middle of a crisis and told me to seek help elsewhere with the knowledge that it could take months to get in somewhere else. She also lacked boundaries, often taking over entire sessions with her own personal dramas. Unprofessional and ultimately incompetent.

A very kind, intuituve, good listener. She shares about her own personal life, which made me feel like she understood what I was going through.
