Dr. Donovan O Neil Holder, MD

1 Star is far too kind but no other choice given so I guess that in itself should say a lot. His staff is probably the rudest people I have ever encountered and what's worse is he allows it! At one point I was having an injection and his nurse came in with a plate of food and stood eating while he had her move the xray machine around. He doesn't listen to a thing you are saying and is not at all attentive. I heard he was retiring and boy I hope he is! I kept complaining to my PCP and he said stop going to him, he was hearing far too many bad things about him too.

I have been in this Pain Clinic for over 2 years. I called a script in one week ago,like it sayssays to do and said when I would be picking it up. They did not have it ready the day I was supposed to pick it up and by the following week on Monday, (4 days later since they are not open Fridays) they STILL didn't have it ready today and said it would be ready after "lunch"( 12-1.) I called at 1:30 and the recording said they were closed. Called yet again at ,2:30 and yet again.... CLOSED. No one ever called me back and they remained closed. I was due for this script yesterday and they specifically knew that. On their recording and online it says office hours are 8-4 some say 4:30. Either way they were closed much more than they should have been, not to mention ALL the receptionist's were VERY rude. Now have to go another full day without my pain meds because that doctor just opens and or closes when he feels like it. No one their is of any help and rest assured I will be looking very… hard for another Pain Clinic. Even if they are half as decent as Holders, it sure will be so much better than no one caring about my situation!

I have seen him since 2004 he said I didn't need surgery and I would be on pain pills the rest of my life well I had a fusion and in more pain it has moved up my back and I get numbness all the way to my feet sometimes my arms depending on the way I lay nothing seems to work so what can I do my body is in so much pain the only time I feel comfortable is to lay on my back ain't that messed up it seems.that would be the worst position but the most comfortable I wouldn't suggest having back surgery to anyone but Dr. Holder has done everything to keep me comfortable with out getting addicted to pain meds that's not what I want I just need relief from the pain without pain pills and he has done that except relieve my pain what he does is temporary I need 24/7

i wish i could leave less than one star. Please if you have real pain problems find another doctor. If your a druggy and just want scripts he's your man!

Can't comment on his technique because after he did the shortest health history I've ever been asked, performed no orthopedic tests except asking me to turn my head, and left the door open while standing during his intake, I wasn't about to let him perform an invasive technique on me. After some investigation, I'm in a high risk group for negative incident during the injection he wanted to do but he wouldn't know that because he didn't ask about my other conditions! Manufacturing applied to medicine. Yeesh. The receptionist couldn't believe it when I called to cancel the injection appointment later. Not my kind of health care provider. Go see for yourself but be aware of his lack of everything except technical prowess. I'm tired of paying people to be rude. No more.

Arrogant, Supercilious, Contemptuous & Censorious of opinions not delivered by himself! This office is as corrupt as they come. IF, you do not go with his method of treatment, (Injections) without knowing the pain issue.. He will not treat your pain & will come up with several excuses to get you back into his office as many times as possible to make the $$00.00 he would have received for injections. OH did I mention that my case is so unusual, the spine dr stated that injections would have been a disadvantageous form of treatment!!!! There are many good clinics in our area. I can attest to the fact this man will NEVER write a prescription or see me again.

Went in because I was referred by my physician for chronic back and kidney pain. I was prescribed vicodin and was taking more than perscribed because of the pain. They charged me 300$ called me a drug addict and sent me on my way. I am a father of two kids he could atleast done something for me, didnt have to be a narcotic. He basically called me a drug addict and took my money. All the money I had left. Do not go to him unless u just got hit by a car or are dying. I am a father of two and own a business im not a junkie just in constant pain.

This doctor is very arrogant and has terrible bedside manner. Most of his solutions for the problems I have make my pain worse. Terrible!

I find it hard to understand how this man got his degree....he has no compasionfor his patients..and you can expect sarcasm and a resultless visit..a total waste of time..He recieved one star for bedside manner only because there wasnt a lower option

I will never know what kind of doctor Holder is, because he's effectively made that impossible. I presented complaining about intermittent and excruciating shoulder pain--quite literally, the worst pain I've ever had in my life. When Holder couldn't recreate the pain in his office, he told me he couldn't suggest anything to me until he saw how the pain presented with his own eyes. His solution? The next time the pain came on, I was to: (1) drop everything, (2) jump in my car, and (3) barrel half an hour down the Thruway to his office, where, he said, they would "probably be able to see you pretty quickly." Did I mention that this pain is excruciating? It certainly precludes driving. When I raised that issue, he shrugged and told me that was the best he could do. (Actually, he not only told ME this, but everyone else within earshot--staff and other patients--because he left the exam room door open as he examined me.) I've never made a more useless and frustrating visit to the doctor's… office.
