I would not choose this office again. if you go ,take a lunch with you. worst visit in my adult life.

You gotta have " thick skin". He's honest and direct. Most importantly I trust him with my life��. He honestly wants his patients to leave a longer healthier life.

My octogenarian parent has been a patient of Dr. Beatty's for approx. 5 years. We've been planning on changing doctors because of his abrupt and dismissive attitude but change is difficult at my mother's age. I try to attend her dr visits because she comes away confused and feeling belittled. Admittedly, hearing is an issue. I have always felt he is an impatient man, arrogant and demeaning, and when my mother doesn't hear him, he appears to interpret the subsequent questions as challenging his expertise/authority and responds in a rude fashion. The final straw occurred in an attempt to get RX refills. I listened to my mother's end of the telephone conversation with his nurse, which amounted to maybe 2 minutes. We immediately received a follow up call from Dr. Beatty who proceeded, in raised voice, to accuse my mother of being abusive to his nurse. She was dumbfounded, confused, and told him she was putting me on the phone. He immediately verbally attacked me; I too was so… taken aback I asked if he actually knew what person he was speaking to. Sadly, he continued his rant, in a highly raised voice, calling my mother and I both names. I tried reasoning with him, believing this had to be some misunderstanding, but he continued on with his personal attack. I do not believe I've laid eyes on the man for over a year so I find it hard to believe he remembers me, a more reserved personality. My mother's health is more of a movement towards confusion and cognitive issues as opposed to physical issues, but obviously the doctor is not adept in those diagnoses. Dr. Beatty is, now WAS, also my husband's GP. During these years, this doctor has never touched either patient; has never used a stethoscope on either; never checked their ears, nose, throat, etc. His rationale is he's the overseer so he refers everyone out. I hope Dr. Beatty reads this. Does it ever cross your mind that you might be dealing with someone of advanced age who has entered into diminished capacity - but most importantly, that this person deserves compassion, not derision and abusive language. Your aggressive and abusive behavior has upset both of us., but most importantly my 84 year old mother. I pray you reflect on these reviews.

Am leaving this doctor. Wound up yelling at me and my wife after two successive appointments (1.5 hour wait and 2 hour wait)to obtain a refill prescription for pain patch for my wife. Seemed to think I should have been familiar with the protocol for such drugs. Never lays a hand on his patients for exams. Spend a lot of time with drug reps. Is quite knowledgeable about medical theory.

Seems to me he prescribes everyone Crestor, Tekturna, and Niaspan. I know because he always has all of the doors open and I could hear everything. Only uses one exam room. Never touches you to check breathing etc. Spends alot of time with drug Reps. Only looks at the numbers from tests not your personal challenges etc. Stay away!!!

A new receptionist a few months ago is extremely abrasive, putting it politely. Possibly peri-menopausal, she more often than not chooses to make issues out of non-issues, and rather than adjusting her protocol to that of another physician, she has refused to make me an appointment until receiving lab results from another specialist, which promised to fax the results when I had made the appt. Fortunately, I insisted on the appointment, and said that either she or I could call the specialist and ASK them to fax the results. I was following the directions of the specialist in first making the appointment. The fax was no problem, but I was quite ticked that she made it so difficult to get the appointment, especially since I'm about to be going out of town. On a previous visit, I had an appointment, and had a 'way excessively long wait (maybe 2 hours or more). I had checked back with this receptionist to make sure I hadn't been forgotten, and was asked to wait for them to call me back.… Other people were called back to see the Dr., who had arrived after my own arrival. Finally, when I was the only person left in the waiting room, and still had not been called back, I again checked with this receptionist, and was told (rudely) that the doctor couldn't see me, and they were already closed! She knew I was sitting out there for hours, yet wasn't nice enough to tell me that because of a couple of "emergencies" the doctor wouldn't be able to see me that day! I had wasted my entire afternoon, when I could have spent the time productively. I didn't reschedule my appointment, but rather saw another physician. I considered never going back, but I did, only because I have confidence in this doctor, and I do like his attention to detail in reviewing lab results and reports from other physicians. The rest of the staff are nice, polite, personable, and caring, so this receptionist with an attitude is so ugly and rude, that I'm seriously considering looking for another internist. I'm sure she's got to be equally abrasive with other patients. Another gripe of mine is I often have to wait a long time to see the doctor. Today, I waited about 40 minutes before the nurse called me back. However, in the past, I've seen the doctor sooner, at at other times, I've had to wait up to 3 hours! At today's appointment, I decided not to mention the rudeness of the receptionist, not wanting to "rock the boat", especially since I haven't located another internist to switch to.

My blood work indicated an elevation in my kidney function panel. I went there for the purpose of repeating the blood work. That never happened. He must have been in one of his "moods" that day. I noticed very unpleasant bedside manner on previous appointment. But the way I was treated that day was no less than "serious abuse." I left his office in tears. Later did some internet research on other patients experiences. Turns out that It is very common that he is a live wire possessing the ability to go "off" on a patient just as the "mood" strikes him...often times in a totally unrelated area. He may be a highly qualified physician however his behavior is not only unacceptable and unprofessional, my experience was total "abuse" and I will be filing a complaint with the medical board. I've heard he is a great physician from other people but my recommendation would be "beware!"

He a very angry person who brings other issues into the office. Screams and physical tries to intimidate patients in the presence of other patients, staff and drug reps. Needs some serious mental health help before being allowed to renew his license.

Dr Beatty has been known to misdiagnos patients including myself. He has shown anger and frustration towards patients where the patients end up crying and complaining to the nursing staff. His mood swings and bedside manner are atrocious! I recommeded my best friends grandmother of 86 years old, and he yelled at her and threw her previous records from other physicians at her, because "he doesn't care about what other doctors have done, he'll do his own tests." She left there crying and totally mortified. She had never been treated that way by a doctor in her life. I will not EVER recommed any one there ever again. On the flip side, he is very wise and has changed the lives of alot of people.
