Dr. Douglas Glenn Young, MD

I WAS WITH THIS DR. OVER THEN YEARS AND I ONLY SAW HIM MAYBW TWICE, I'M PRETTY HEALTHY OVERALL, LONG STORY SHORT, HE IS NEVER AVAIL. HE REFUSED TO CALL ME BACK . I WAS TOLD HE DOESNT CALL PATIENTS. HE HAS NO INTEREST IN BEING A FAMILY PHYSYCIAN & WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM FOR YOUNG FAMILIES. HIS MAIN INTEREST IS HIS "RESEARCH" AND THEN IF YOUR LUCKY HIS PATIENTS. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. .."TOTAL QUACK "

This rating is for the nurse practitioner. Dr. Young is never available when I need to be seen.

Straight-forward, but compassionate. I really like him.

Since I have moved to southern Sacramento I am holding judgement on his next appointment with me.

I was between full time employment and did not have any insurance. I was expecting full time employment and insurance coverage in 3 to 5 months. I needed to see a doctor to have my thyroid checked. This included some blood work and a rx for the year. My doctor had retired so I needed a new doctor. I called Dr. Young's office and explained my situation - even about needing to pay in cash as I did not have any insurance. I had less than 2 months supply of my medication that MUST be taken daily. I was told no problem and scheduled for an appointment in 6 weeks - just before my rx ran out. They even sent out a questionnaire that asked for ALL my information that I returned that same week. When I showed up for my appointment I was asked for my insurance - I told her that I did not have any ( they had all this info). I was then told that I could not see the doctor then. I told her that I told the woman who made the appoint met and it was filled out on the paperwork that they had in… their possession for the last 5 weeks. I also told her that I only had enough medication to get through that week - she was smug and just crossed her arms and told me that I could not see the doctor. Rude, unprofessional, and unethical as his office put me into a serious predicament and took delight in it. Stay away form this one!

DR YOUNG IS NEVER AVAILABLE, THE STAFF IS NOT HELPFUL, THE OFFICE IS ONLY AVAILABLE MON-THURS ( 2 HOUR LUNCH) , FRI 8:30-12P.... AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF THE STAFF NEVER HAS GONE OUT OF THEIR WAY FOR ANYTHING I NEEDED..DEF. NOT A GOOD DR FOR FAMILIES .

Spends 14 & 1/2 hours/week as a PCP. The rest of his time is spent at an office 18 freeway miles away doing experimental drug research. If you develop a problem caused by taking the experimental drugs, you are advised to visit "your own doctor," i.e. someone else.

Typically a month to get an appointment. No other doctor in office. Has another, possibly the real office in South Sac. Seems most interested in his research studies in too many areas, but if you can't be in them, you may not get much attention. Seems to remember nothing no matter how many times one repeats or sends information.
