Dr. Alexander Grand, MD

Dr. Grand is an outstanding ophthalmologist. I see him for my eye exams as well as Botox and other procedures. Several of my friends have done Blepharoplasty and Ptosis repair by Dr. Grand. They all look magnificent. I highly recommend Dr. Grand.

Dr Grand was very compassionate. It’s stressful to see multiple doctors all over greater Sac and be on waitlist and Dr Grand diagnosed my condition, even though no one wants to hear my neuro issue, he explained in detail my diagnosis and I feel so relieved to be in his patient care. I don’t know what I would do if it wasn’t for his speciality and practice.

I had vision in my eye go out and everyone said it was my cataract but when I saw Dr Grand he noticed something wrong and ordered an MRI and found optic neuritis! He set me up with a neurologist and I’m doing a lot better

I was so pleased, Dr Grand evaluated my double vision and looked over my tests and told me I’d self heal in 3 months and I did! His assurance was what got me through a really tough time!

Dr Grand requires an MRI brain scan before seeing patients with double vision (diplopia). I thought he might offer some insight into my particular diplopia so I got the MRI and scheduled an appointment My experience was more than disappointing. He said he required a brain MRI to rule out a brain tumor. I thought that was rather odd since most diplopia issues have nothing to do with bran tumors. I brought him the cd of my MRI but he was not interested in looking at it. Instead he asked to see the written report. I already knew it indicated there was no serious issues. It was disappointing that he was not interested in looking at the MRI to make sure that the report was accurate. I had recently gotten glasses with prisms from another doctor. They were effective but I was having trouble with my distance vision. I was expecting that he would give me a complete eye exam but instead he asked to see the prescription from the other doctor. I informed him I was also doing vision therapy… exercises. He did not think much of that idea but instead suggested I see an eye surgeon and gave me a referral. I am not sure if it was the vision therapy or the time it took for my eyes to adjust to the glasses but I can now see clearly with no vision issues. In conclusion my experience with Dr Grand was a waste of time. If you have a double vision issue I suggest you see some other doctor.

I have seen Dr. Grand for dry eye for years. He is so nice, knowledgeable and informative. He is completely thorough. I highly recommend him.
