Dr. Allan Henry Tissenbaum, MD

Dr. Tissenbaum could not have been nicer. He also was very complete concerning my ailment. I would recommend him to anyone.

I like his no nonsense matter of fact business approach to my knee problem. I didn't waste his time and he didn't waste mine

I’ve had Dr Tissenbaum in Wheeling WV for a rotator cuff surgery, he is the best!! 5 years later I’m having some problem with my shoulder again to find out he has left Wheeling so I went on the internet to find him. Visited today and I was welcomed with open arms. I think he is the greatest! He took a long while with me and told me what he was going to do, and thanked me for coming to Pittsburgh to see him again. Thank you Dr Tissenbaum

I broke my right foot in May of 2016 and I saw Dr. Tissenbaum when he still practiced at Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV. After getting x-Rays I went into the exam room and waited. Dr. Tissenbaum stuck his head in the door and said that my right foot was broken but because I have severe Type 1 Diabetes that he will have me wear a boot and I was to see him again in 1 month. He was in and out in less than 2 minutes. I was wheelchaired down to Physical Therapy and was fitted with a walking boot. One month later in a similar many, he stuck his head in the door and said that I was healed and that I should avoid any running or jumping. 2 months later while visiting my Endocrinologist in Pittsburgh she asked to see my foot and then she had a Foot Specialist from West Penn Hospital look at my foot. They both suggested that I go over to West Penn and have a Podiatrist Surgeon look at my foot. I did and was told that my foot was still broken but that it was broken in multiple places. … I told them that my foot felt fine but I was told that I was not feeling the pain because of Neuropathy and that I was on the verge of developing Chartose Foot which can happen with Diabetes and if not attended to then infection can occur resulting in gangrene and possible amputation. I had to go back to wearing the walking boot for 3 more months and also do nightly vibration stimulation so as to increase and speed up the healing process. I really do not know Dr. Tissenbaum but I would think that with Diabetes and the possibilities of foot damage that he would have monitored my care a bit more carefully.

This guy is a joke. He's arrogant, rude and incompetent. He doesn't know what he is doing and was verbally abusive to me. He told me to stop talking and asked where I got my medical degree. Refused to order and MRI. He is a total jerk who is full of himself!

Dr. Tissenbaum was polite and casual while he was also professional in his manner. He was friendly and respectful. He asked me about my condition and listened intently. I couldn't have had a more pleasant experience.

Takes very little time with you like he is rushed..does not explain your problem In detail. I'm 4 weeks post op for menicus tear and I'm not walking due to muscle weakness. I was never told to do leg exercises before or after surgery. 2 weeks appt.after surgery he asks if I did my exercises! What! I am still in pain. I would recommend going to a doctor that cares more about his patient's concerns..he spent maybe 30 seconds with me at each appt. I should had followed my instinct when this happened and got a second opinion.

Rude and ignorant. When asked to lift the arm that I could not, I lifted as far as I could. Then he told me there was no reason that I couldn't and jerked my arm up and hurt me. I had to walk through an over crowed lobby of people and was embarrassed because I could not stop crying. Do not ever go to this pathetic excuse of a doctor.

Please find that I along with my Daughter has never ever had a Doctor so ignorant and rude to her as he was. My daughter was injured at work she is a Occupational Therapy Assistant. X-ray showed a left shoulder separation when she saw him in his office he did not think (now think) it was a separation. He thinks it might be a muscle strain/sprain and order therapy. Her left shoulder is 2 inches office the therapy table when laying flat and her shoulder rolls forward. The therapist called the office of Dr. Tissenbaum out of concern of this and the office made an appointment for her to come in. This dr. yelled at her an told her that you just don't come into the office to be seen without and appointment, that he see's 50 patients on this day and an appointment needs made. She tried to explain that his office made the appointment and he said to her there is no record of this appointment. He had not ordered any x-ray or Mri prior todays appointment. He just thinks this is what the… injury is. Asking her about her neck pain she never once said anything to him about neck pain. He also told her that she has not work restrictions but not to use her left arm. Ok drive one handed and help your patients with therapy one handed. Where did this man get his degree from. I come from a family that respects human's talks to people like they are humans and not treat people like they are dirt on my shoe. Social Media, face book and etc sure does go along way and I sure will make sure that what took place in his office today with my daughter is know out there. Also I have a neighbor that when she found out who my daughter was seeing she had nothing good to say about this Dr.do to her personal experience with him. I will give this Dr. a overall rating of a 1 and that is only because the field is required. I will not recommend this Dr. to no one what so ever. It is a shame that Medical Park is losing good Drs left and right and there is Drs. like this man if something is not done and done soon Medical Park will some day have no orthopedic patients because good Dr. are leaving and patients are not going to tolerate being treated and talked to the way he does. There is a team of Orthopedic Dr. only a few miles from this location. I was a Medical Coder for years and in all the years I have never ever had a Dr. be rude as this Dr. and I did orthopedic coding. When a Doctor sees 50 patients in his office in a single day there is no patient care!!!!!!!!!!!!

This man is the rudest Doctor I have ever encountered. I accompanied my wife for a follow up visit today, she still has discomfort in her shoulder. The doctor entered are room and instead of greeting my wife with "how are you" or introduces himself to me the first words out of his mouth are "you can't just come here unannounced I have 50 patients today". Wow! That's just the start. To backtrack my wife was hurt at work and was forced into a workers comp claim. The doctor referred her to a physical therapist 2 days a week. The physical therapist is hesitant to do any major stretching because with her experience she felt that there is a major tear in the labrum. So the therapist spoke with the receptionist in the office to inform them that she could not treat my wife without an MRI being done so she can properly know how to treat my wife. The appointment was set for today, which is a week before the date she was scheduled to come back nevertheless the appointment was made. Obviously… there was a clerical error things happen and it certainly is not my wife's fault. The doctor after already having a bad start, says "the therapist cannot just stop doing therapy I make these decisions" very forcefully at my wife. I'll let that go, but he proceeds to say the same thing 3 more times!!! At that point I'm mad that he's upsetting my wife and I simply said "we heard you the first 4 times, if you have a problem with this therapist take it out on her and not my wife who is just here for treatment". He snapped back something rude to me and i just wanted to say screw it let's leave and see someone else. But I know what kind of pain my wife is in and I wanted to see the MRI scheduled so we can resolve this. My wife must have cried for an hour after seeing this guy she felt so slighted. All I can follow this up with is that there are some people in life you can read in a heartbeat. According to what I've read and heard from friends and family I'm not alone. He is a rude, incompetent dr. Who needs to use his attitude to remind you of who he is and how much better he is then everyone else. I never rate anything online but this had to be said. Avoid this man.
