Dr. Alvin T Wilson III, DO

I was very impressed with Dr. Wilson. He was personable and knowledgeable. His easy manner was welcomed as I am a nervous patient. I felt that I could trust him.

I was seen immediately after I completed my paperwork. Nurse Lolita was knowledgeable, and efficient. Dr. Wilson was OUTSTANDING. I have never felt as confident or comfortable with a Dr. on a first visit. (I am 74) He spent 30 minutes with me and asked ALL the right questions. I have scheduled all future appointments with him. He is the go-to Dr. in Athens. Michele Howard, PhD.

Been going there for 20 years. Julie, the PA, is excellent.

I rated the last 4 items one star because I never saw the doctor, only the PA. She was very nice. When I arrived the waiting room was empty and I was taken in 30 minutes before my apt. time...strange. My complaints: I went in for a physical and blood tests. I was not told to fast so I did not. I was assured that I was told (I think I was just called a liar). I told them I would come back but they said it was ok. The extent of the "physical" was listening to my heart and lungs, taking my bp and temp..........that was it!!! And for "all" of this I was charged $80 (I do not have insurance. The companies don't like former cancer patients) and told to come back the next day for the blood test. It is a 30 minute drive for me. Twenty minutes=$80. I will go to the health dept. and have it done. Perhaps there is some positive somewhere but I did not experience it.

Very disappointed in this practice. Have been going here for years and recently the practice has turned into a cattle herding farm. My son had a rash and respiratory problem (sinus). They diagnosed him without x-rays (which they used to do and my insurance pays for). The entire office seemed to be in a hurry. Then we were told we had to make a separate appointment on another day for the rash to be dealt with. So my son had to suffer with the rash until I could make him another appointment for the next week. We went to a dermatologist instead.

He's such a disgrace to family practice, he should be considered a malpractice! In my dealings with him I've been put on medications without thorough/prior research on my actual self. So called Dr. Wilson takes far less time to actually get to know YOU, analyze you, and thus forth come to a qualified decision about YOU. His hindsight has become complacent, and now you're just now an extra couple of bucks $$! If this was a hotel review, I'd rank him as a Motel 6, and that's a compliment
