Dr. Brian J Cole

After being told by another doctor that waiting for a knee replacement was my only option at 31 years old, I went to see Dr. Cole and his team. After meeting with him and reviewing my scans and information, he said I was a candidate for an osteochondral allograft and meniscal allograft transplant. He took into consideration my questions and thoughts and gave me options rather than just telling me what to do. His and his team’s knowledge and care for patients definitely show in his practice. Throughout the appointments, surgery, and follow ups I always felt I had the support and knowledge I needed for my treatment to be successful and it has been! Dr. Cole and his team have given me my active lifestyle back and I am grateful for that!

Dr. Cole did a phenomenal job on my knee surgery and made sure to help my knee recover the best way possible. He also took time for a follow up visit and MRI to ease my fears post surgery. I am grateful that I was able to have him there for me when I needed to see him.

Dr. Cole is always extremely well prepared for my appointments and is a superior listener. He takes the time to plainly talk about his assessments and clearly explain all treatment options. He truly cares about treating patients and helping them get better. I highly recommend Dr. Cole and his Team.

Dr. Brian Cole truly exceeded every expectation during one of the most difficult moments for our family. My daughter suffered an ACL injury during a tumbling pass at competitive cheer practice, which was not only physically painful but also an emotional setback that ended her season early. From the very beginning, Dr. Cole was exceptional. He took the time to thoroughly explain the ACL reconstruction procedure, what we could expect during recovery, and ensured that every single one of our questions was answered with patience and care. His bedside manner is incredibly kind and reassuring, which made a stressful situation much more manageable. The surgery itself was a success, and we are beyond grateful for the outcome. At just 4 months post-op, my daughter has made remarkable progress and is preparing to return to the cheer mat—something we weren’t sure would be possible so soon. We are taking the necessary precautions to ensure a safe return, but her recovery speaks volumes about Dr.… Cole’s expertise. Dr. Cole is not only highly skilled but also deeply compassionate. We felt supported every step of the way, and I can confidently say he is one of the best orthopedic surgeons out there. We are incredibly thankful for the care he provided.

Dr Brian Cole was very helpful when it came down to my knee injury. He was very honest with me & told me that I would need surgery & that I would be fine after physical therapy. I t just made me feel good inside once I knew what the status was going to be because this injury literally had me depressed! But thank you for everything you & your team shared with me...

Incompetent and disrespectful provider. He failed to provide thorough examination, failed to answer my questions, and could not offer solution or provide option of next steps after I flew from out of state to see him.

Dr. Brian Cole, MD and his team from Midwest Orthopaedics at RUSH run like a well-oiled machine. From the moment I met Dr. Cole, his professional confidence, medical prowess, and expertise in knees (I had a torn ACL & MCL), immediately put me at ease. It's no wonder that some of his patients are international. That combined with being the doctor for the Bulls team was very reassuring. I was in the right place with the right doctor who's reputation precedes him. Now, 4 months out of surgery I am thrilled with the results. I am not back on skis yet, but that is just a matter of time. Dr. Cole is truly a legend in his own right. I am grateful to have my left knee reconstructed so that I can continue to pursue sports and other leisure activities down the road. If you are reading this and wondering if Dr. Cole could help you, you would be doing yourself a disservice by not getting a consultation.

June 29,2023 I am a patient of Dr.Brian Cole since 2005 I had shoulder surgery back then for tears everything went great ! He explained everything that I needed to know about the surgery and recovery. His PA ,Kyle is Excellent, anything that I needed I was able to get in touch with them ! The team is Great. The following year or so I needed other shoulder done same surgery. Everything went Well! Then I sent my brother to them for his shoulders. He had a Very Good Outcome Too! Thank You Dr Cole and Your Team for Being there for Me and My Family!! You’re the Best!! By the way I went today for injections in my shoulder n knee and they are So Wonderful!!

I’ve seen different doctors at Rush Orthopedics and thought they were all some of Elite Doctors in Chicago. I met with a Dr Brian Cole he has too many patients and his staff is not in sync with him, literally I have seen Dr John Fernandez is was the BEST Doctor I’ve ever seen he listens to his patient and cares about and make sure he will do everything in his power to take care of his patients. I also have met with Dr Simon Lee he too was a great Doctor and also showed empathy and made sure he listen to his patient and their ne I’ve seen different doctors at Rush Orthopedics and thought they were all some of Elite Doctors in Chicago. I met with a Dr Brian Cole he has too many patients and his staff is not in sync with him, literally I have seen Dr John Fernandez is was the BEST Doctor I’ve ever seen he listens to his patient and cares about and make sure he will do everything in his power to take care of his patients. But Dr Brian Cole was one of the worst Dr’s I ever seen in my entire life, he doesn’t listen and shows any empathy when it has to do with his patients, in fact I think he has to many patients. I remember the day I had surgery I was in a lot of pain and I had the surgery at there surgery center in Chicago that’s at Rush, I waited to see my Dr i explained to him I was in a lot pain he then proceeded to say wait I think you had a bicep tear and he repaired it and then he says your rotator cuff is fine. Then he calls a nurse over and told her to give me discharge papers, I thought she was part of his team she then proceeds to tell myself and my wife to not keep my arm in the sling to take it out of the sling out of 24 hrs after having surgery, well I proceeded to do so my follow up to see the doctor was liter 4 weeks later but 2 weeks later I had a tele-health with his PA. During the 4 weeks I was in the worse pain of my life I call and tried getting in to see the dr he had no opening neither did his PA. Finally the day of the tele-health with the PA she says to me why isn’t my arm in the sling we told her the nurse at the surgery center told us to not wear the sling after 24hours she said that was nobody from Dr Cole’s team. Well how are we supposed to know who’s from Dr Coles team and who isn’t, the PA said it must’ve been someone from the surgery center. Also if that was the case why didn’t someone from Dr Cole give my wife or myself the instructions on what to do when leaving. I think Dr Coles has to many patients and every since and his team isn’t in sync except to the 2 lady PA’s the guy PA is terrible and has no business even seeing patients. I had surgery in Feb and I’m still in pain and I have beg this dr to please do another MRI or something not right he refuses to do so! I never met a dr who literally acts like nothing is wrong and think I’m now getting a second opinion by a different doctor and if I find out that this dr was incorrect I will take the proper action to make sure this doesn’t happen to another patient. Literally I’ve seen other Doctors at Rush and never have I ever been treated the way this doctor has treated me. The last time I spoke with his PA because I’ve still been in pain she said she’ll order an MRI. Well guess what it has been done! I don’t ever recommend any ever to see this Doctor again!

He is the best shoulder doctor I have found. He replaced my right shoulder last year and it is doing great. I have gained back virtually 100% of my previous range of motion. He is currently treating me for tendinitis in my left rotator cuff and assured me the pain will go away with an injection and physical therapy.
