Dr. Brian Earle Pickens, MD

I had Dr. Pickens perform abdominal surgery for me in 2012. I was super impressed with his competence as well as his professional treatment and involvement with me. His assistant Becky is also super and always available and helpful. Just recently, my dermatologist found two sites on my back and shoulder that each turned out to be malignant melanoma. Dr. Pickens did an awesome job of removing both of the melanomas as well as the lymph node in my underarm. The lymph node came back negative and there were clear margins on both melanoma incisions. I was so thankful for Dr. Pickens and, once again, Becky was extremely helpful and supportive. My recommendation for Dr. Pickens is as strong as it could possibly be!! Performed my partial mastectomy and insertion of port for chemo. Could not have asked for a better professional. Thoroughly explained procedure beforehand and he and Becky managed to erase any anxiety during followup procedures.

In this age of "in-and-out" service, it is particularly nice to find a physician who takes the time to talk and get to know his patients. Dr. Pickens' attentive and compassionate manner was especially welcome when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had some difficult decisions to make and he took his time to review my options and go over my concerns. He operated me 3 different times and they were all successful experiences.

As an exceptionally high profile case, between other illnesses and allergies, I am very picky about my doctors. I have to tell you Dr. Pickens is the only surgeon I would consider letting touch me. I would recommend him to anyone!

I've had 3 surgeries and 1 biopsy all performed by Dr. Brian Pickens. He is the best and I put full trust in him. My last surgery, I requested that he do it. I will not have another surgeon if possible. He makes me comfortable and his expertise gives me confidence. He has a great reputation as well.

6 months after my surgery, I am still in lots of pain. So hard to get a call back from them. Twice when we finally got a hold of them, they said they left a voicemail, which I conveniently never received. I receive all other voicemails though, so I knew this to be a lie. They do have our number, because they have called back after at least 10 messages we left with them. Still waiting on them to call me back with results of a CAT scan which I had done over a month ago, although I did finally have the imaging office send results to my primary so I could get results. Bottom line, Brian Pickens DOES NOT care about the patient.. only the money. Find another doctor. Yes, I am extremely bitter as back in the day, doctors used to care. Now they are all just greedy.

Dr. Pickens just did hernia surgery on my husband and I have to say he is the most professional, wonderful dr. we have ever dealt with. He has a wonderful bedside manner, very thorough and makes you feel s0 comfortable. I highly recommend him. He is the greatest.

Dr. Pickens did my partial thyroidectomy on 8/8/08. He was a wonderful surgeon...very knowledgeable, empathetic, and gracious. Not to mention, he has a good sense of humor! He was concerned about my scar and made the incision neat, clean, and as small as possible. I am now almost 2 weeks post surgery and all is well. My scar looks great (thanks to Mederma) and will not even be noticeable in a few months. I think what impressed me most about Dr. Pickens was that he was willing to take whatever course of action I wanted. Surgery was an option for me, not a necessity. Dr. Pickens was open to my suggestions and completely supported my decision to go ahead with the partial thyroidectomy. I am very pleased with all aspects of Dr. Pickens...his wisdom, skill, experience, and bedside manner. I recommend him without hesitation and will definitely use him in the future if I ever require surgery again.
