Dr. O’Donnell received a B.A. in 1998 from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey where he majored in Psychology and Biology, with a minor in Biochemistry. He completed medical school at the University of New England-College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Rutgers/Kessler Institute in New Jersey, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident during his senior year. Following completion of his residency in 2006, he completed fellowship training in interventional spine procedures at Performance Spine and Sports Physicians in Pottstown, PA. He became board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2007, and by the American Board of Pain Medicine in 2009. He has lectured locally and nationally, and has published in multiple medical journals.
Dr. O’Donnell specializes in the treatment of spine and sports related injuries, including interventional spine procedures. He also has a …special interest in diving medicine and regenerative medicine. He has previously volunteered his medical skills at the New York City Marathon, Providence 70.3 Ironman, and is currently a medical advisor for Stay-Focused, which is a non-profit organization that certifies disabled teenagers to SCUBA dive.
Dr. O’Donnell bases the treatment of patients on his background as an Osteopathic physician and a Physiatrist. He believes that the best treatment for acute and chronic conditions is a proper multidisciplinary rehabilitation plan, in which the patient plays a vital role.
