Dr. Charles Edward Kollmer, MD

Dr Kollmer performed a knee replacement on me. During my recovery I was in constant extreme pain, couldn't flex my knee or walk without excruciating pain. When I expressed my agony to his PA Bob, he kept telling me it would get better in time. At my first visit after the surgery I saw my knee x-ray and it did not look right. The knee replacement looked to big. Bob told me it was supposed to be that way and my bone will grow into it. I am a petite small frame woman. I didn't feel right about what he was trying to convince me of so I proceeded to seek a 2nd, 3rd and 4th opinion only to be told that the component used was 2x to big for my bone size. I was informed I needed another knee surgery to correct the size. I had a knee revision within 7 months of my original surgery. I have more issues and pain now then I did before my surgery. Prior to my surgery I was told I needed a knee replacement on both my knees. I was lied to about needing surgery on my other knee.

Only saw him for actual surgery, all other visits were with PA's. Got a blood clot from simple knee surgery. Complained of severe pain at follow-up appt. PA dismissed it! a week later I checked MYSELF into the ER and was found with a Pulmonary Embolism, I was sent to ICU immediately... Dr. Kollmer came to visit me, couldn't even look me in the eye! Just looked around the room and at monitors and said "Well, sometime things happen". seriously! "things happen"? I almost died! STAY AWAY from this facility! I wish I'd read these reviews prior to my surgery!!! Please heed my warning. If this saves even just one life, my struggles will not have been in vain.

Dr. Kollmer did the surgery and I never saw him again, only one of his PAs. He and his PA did not follow-up on my complaints about pain (issues verified by 2nd opinion). His equipment is antiquated and they merely took an MRI report at face value and didn't dig deeper as the second doctor did.

Dr Kollmer is an excellent physician. Although his bedside manner is something I had to get used to, his surgical skills were perfect.

He is the worst Doctor I have ever had but never mind me I feel so bad for the guy that had six surgeries and the stupid Doctor lost the guys hip and he now has one leg shorter than the other one

Do NOT go to this so called MD, he ruined my life!!!

Dr. Kollmer always explains things well and is eager to find a solution for my problem. I'm always able to schedule appointments quickly and his staff are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I went to Dr. Kollmer feeling confident that my rotator cuff repair was going to be addressed and repaired and follow up would ensure that I would be taken care of one way or the other. 8 months after surgery, I am still in so much pain at times, I just sit and cry. I have tried to address this issue with Dr. Kollmer and he treats me like I am making all of this up. I am treated by him and his staff like I am a junky or something. I do not want to keep taking pain meds. I hate them. But because my repair to my shoulder is not healing properly, I have to do something to be able to work and to live my life. I had to go to a pain management doctor recently in order to get any relief for the pain. He was worse that Dr. Kollmer. Just gave me drugs and did not even do an MRI to see what is going on. It is so sad that doctors these days are that way. I am now looking for another orthapedic doctor that will take a look at my shoulder and tell me why I am in so much pain. I just… want some relief. So very sad.

Dr Kollmer should have his Lic to practice orthopedics revoked. He did a total knee replacement on my mother 2 years ago, she has been in extreme pain since the surgery. Now she may need back surgery due to a change in her gait from her poorly done knee replacement. She is a petite woman and Dr Kollmer placed a "man sized" knee replacement in her knee. In order to fit this huge knee in, he had to stretch and damage tendons and ligiments. She was in rehab for 2 weeks after the surgery. Her pain is disabling and she is depressed most days. I wish i would have done my research and seen that many of his patients are extremely unhappy with his abilities. I wont even go into the way he closed her incision, a butcher would have done a better job!!! Seriously, my dad had both knees replaced in NY, he has staples put in and they healed nicely....not my mom, she has an awful looking scar....what a BIG mistake to trust him.

Dr. Kollmer , his surgery nurse Karen and Office Nurse Diane are the most competent, knowledgeable, considerate and caring people in a practice I have ever encountered. Dr. Kollmer had treated me since 2003 thru 2009 ( maybe longer) and he performed 4 surgeries on me. He worried about my condition, pain level and recovery before, during and after each surgery and IS SINCERE! He talked to me as to what to expect, ie; complications, risks, benefits of procedure and the potential side effects of course! He spent a ton of time with me and my family and never have I felt slighted or cheated from his undivided attention! Had I not moved from Florida he would still be my physician! The man is knowledgable, thorough, educated and plainly put, HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING. Not only does he have talented hands an a head full of knowledge he has Class AND a sense of humor. I DON'T THINK THERE IS ANOTHER DR WHO COMPARES TO HIM! I will say, in the event I need another surgery I WILL GO BACK DOWN TO… FLORIDA AND HAVE HIM DO THE PROCEDURE. I just don't trust anyone else! Since I had him as my surgeon it has set the bar high to the point that no other Dr I have encountered come close to him nor do I feel comfortable with them. Also he is talented to the point that he can give u a Caudel Block Injection in his office and have u feeling relief in less than 10 minutes compared to the pain management quacks that want to put u to sleep, get the fluoroscopy machine out and marry the procedure for an hr plus! No one compares to him! His staff is second to none. 1 gripe that I do have is with billing, they did extort $450 from me after they billed and coded the insurance company incorrectly and wouldn't pay the bill and they refused to correct the billing statement and resubmit it so before I could see him one day I had to beg, barrow and steal $450 In order to see him! My claim is a WC claim and I have a primary and secondary private health coverage and I shouldn't have spent $450 over the course of 10yrs in copays if I seem him every month for the 10yrs and again it was a workers comp claim, I shouldn't have paid a dime. Anyway, billing is bad and Roxanne will kick our a$$ to the curb so stay on top of your statements. Love ALL THE STAFF TOO! EVERYONE IS TOP NOTCH
