I have had the good fortune of being a patient of Dr. Charles Carroll IV for over 15 years. Within that time he has cared for my hands, including three surgeries (carpal tunnel and tendon release), as well as my shoulder, including acromioplasty, distal clavicle excision, and rotator cuff repair. Through it all, he began with the least invasive treatment, always attuned to my progress and never hesitant to move forward with the surgery when necessary. He was extremely supportive through all of my rehabilitations, providing advice and always taking my own assessments of progress to heart. It is not always common to find such a high level of expertise and compassion in an orthopedic surgeon, but Dr. Carroll is definitely the exception.

I have been a patient of Dr. Carroll's for 30+ years. I have had at least 10 hand surgeries with him over the years due to my rheumatoid arthritis. Back when I first met Dr. Carroll, together we came up with a plan on how to rebuild my hands. He had not only trained under the best, but the method he used was the only one being done that way at the time and it solidified my reason to trust him! He knew his stuff!! He and his team also developed a brace for post-op that had never been used before. Because of that, I was able to live a long productive life with those hands. It wasn't until 30 some years later that we needed to try and rebuild them again plus my thumbs....with a few replacements in between. There is no other doctor I would trust to work on my hands! His skill and knowledge, his professionalism and his ability has made him a REMARKABLE surgeon! (Plus he never misses the chance to go above and beyond!)
