Dr. Chason Spencer Hayes, MD

If I could give a zero rating, I would went to him for a second opinion from Owcp never really did anything that benefited what the second opinion was in the process I was stripped down and groped. Do not go to him at all.

I saw Dr, Hayes on October 20, 2023. and I have filed a complaint with the North Carolina Medical Board because I found him to be abusive and discriminatory .

I'd had had a bad experience with an MD who was part of Dr. Hayes' practice but I really needed a total knee replacement, Dr. Hayes had good patient reviews and my initial appointments with him indicated he was highly intelligent, ready to share information clearly and quite capable. I moved ahead with some hesitation and could not be happier that I did. My surgery went well. I left the hospital the next day with a problematic drain at the surgery site and had to visit the ER the next night to have it removed. But I was up and about without pain in 4 days. No complaints

This doctor lied in his report to OWCP he did the worst exam for a so called specialist. Did not wash his hands, poor bedside manner. Clearly did not read his report as contradicted himself and opposite of what he said in exam room. He is obviously a rubberstamp for OWCP for whatever they want to do with your case which is to stop paying benefits. He and OWCP should be called out each and every time they do patients like this!

he saw me for five minutes, yanked on my arm, ouch! told me "he had read all about my work" yet NEVER asked me a single question. He sent me for an x-ray, confirmed that my bone would never re attach, and asked me if I wanted any pain medications. Why? So he could either get me hooked on opioids, or to label me as a "drug seeker". He then stated on the comp form that I had "no limitations" and could return to my desk job..but then stated that I had two limitations on the same page.. I could not raise my dominant arm and could not lift more than 30lbs. well, as a FEMA reservist, the first line of my job description is that travel is required! We have to travel to the disaster sites, everywhere in the US, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin and martial islands. He obviously lied about reading my job description, and we typically carry around 100lbs of luggage and equipment. Do that with an un attached collar bone and a dislocated shoulder! So my comp pay was stopped because of him. I am… going to file every complaint I can against him. He is obviously only interested in the insurance money, because he stinks. He violates the Hippocratic oath, and is unethical. Everyone should also read the reviews on doctor.com, where one woman labeled him, Dr Doom.

Saw this guy for a total of 5 minutes, told me, to my face, that he agreed that I was unfit to go back to my position, because of the law enforcement nature and the chance of injury or death. However, when he submitted the paperwork to OWCP, he told another story that was completely different. I understand that the government is paying the bill, but, don't say one thing to my face and another when pressed by the government. Bad business practice.

I would avoid Dr. Chason Hayes at all cost. Dr. Hayes puts money before the care of his patients and it is very unprofessional. I was being treated from him as result of a collision, which resulted in no out of pocket expense. I informed him of my symptoms and he quickly responded I would have to see him separately, with an out of pocket cost because my symptoms were unrelated. After consulting my PT I was informed my symptoms were in fact result of the collision and Dr. Hayes was "cutting corners". He is someone who lacks character, judgement, knowledge, and humility. Dr. Hayes was also severely fined by the NC Medical Board for mistreatment of patients back in 2011.

DR. HAYES COMPLETELY FIXED MY CARPAL TUNNEL. I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER WITH THE RESULTS.
