Dr. Donald Stewart, MD

@gregreid2003 5 minutes ago I have been a patient at Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat (CEENTA) for over 20 years, during which I have seen several providers, including Dr. George Alter and Catherine Cuite. Throughout this time, I have always appreciated the exceptional care I have received. Therefore, when my optician referred me to Dr. Stewart for a condition involving nerve damage to my face, I felt confident that I would receive similar quality care. Unfortunately, my experience today did not reflect the exemplary service I have come to expect. My appointment was for 9:30 a.m. Due to various tests, I did not see Dr. Stewart until approximately 11:45 a.m. While anxious to see him, I was willing to wait. However, when Dr. Stewart failed to address any of the questions I had previously submitted for discussion, I was disappointed and confused. Considering that the referral was sent to his office two months ago, I was shocked to learn that his office was not the appropriate… resource for treating my condition. If he knew the referral wasn't appropriate, someone should have informed me of this before today's appointment. As someone who faces several health issues daily, I spend a substantial amount of money on copayments, medications, and other medical expenses. I took time off work and spent $80 on the copayment for this visit. A review of my visit notes even reveals a lack of attention. Dr. Stewart noted that he couldn't offer assistance without elaborating on my ailments. Towards the end of our brief exchange, he mentioned that I should follow up with Dr. McKee. Soon after, the optician told me that this follow-up was unnecessary and would result in another wasted $80. When I requested a refill of my Erythromycin, as Dr. Cuite left your facility, Dr. Stewart refused and claimed that I did not require it. When leaving, I saw that many other patients, mostly white individuals, were furnished with protective sunglasses due to the effects of dilated eyes. Unfortunately, I wasn't given protective eyewear, making my drive home difficult and unsafe due to my inability to see clearly. As a long-standing and loyal patient, I deserved better treatment. He made me feel like I was wasting his precious time. Learn to listen to your patients. Understand that they come to you for help. Treat them the way you would want to be treated. I pray that If ever you are down and out and look to a doctor for help, you're not treated the same way that I was treated today. Take care,

Dr. Stewart is the best. He is attentive to your concerns. His exams are thorough and he doesn’t try to “sell” you what you don’t need. Bedside manner is awesome!

Had left eye cataract surgery and waited over 3 hours after arriving for appt. finally was prepped for surgery and briefly spoke with anesthesiologist then Dr Stewart briefly came by and said we would soon be doing the procedure. Another 20-30 mins past and I finally was in the surgical center and positioned so my arms would not move. I was told they were administering versed so that I would not remember the procedure. I heard the Dr and staff talk about NASCAR the whole time and experienced different colors brightly lighting up the whole time I lay there. I blinked one time when I saw a very bright white light. This was the only time the Dr. Talked to me the whole procedure and that was only to tell me not to blink. I now have a huge bruise on my left arm which is the result of the versed going into my arm and not the vein, thus someone missed the vein. My blood pressure was extremely high post-op and the anesthesiologist was summoned to assess the situation. I would not call… 166/98 anywhere normal to dismiss a patient. I was told i should call my GP if it did not go down within two days. I had scheduled the right eye to be done this week, that is so not happening. I saw Dr Stewart the next day for a follow-up and told him all of this. His answer was next time we will give you more versed. There won't be a next time.

Didn't do all necessary and required eye tests such as Tonometry... then tell me I have more cataract in my eye compared with the same age person and will need a Cataract surgery with in 1-4 years. In a fact, I am a very healthy person with no health problem.... As soon as he told me I need a Cataract surgey, I knew what kind Dr. I have.
