Dr. Edward James Hepworth, MD

Dr. Hepworth, himself, is awesome, yet he is only as good as his support staff, so grading on this. His nurse, Ms. Love, leaves much to be desired. My first meeting with her, she gas-lighted AND bald face lied to me. Second meeting, after surgery, she left packing up my nose that could have been removed had she known how to do her job, or wanted to do her job, and I ended up with nasal infection after csf leak repair. I have record of over 20 phone calls I made to Hepworths office, leaving messages, and did not receive calls back. Got through to on-call dr., said I was concerned about infection, he prescribed diuretics because nurse love made up, and put in chart, that I was having headaches and pressure (we never discussed it, so she lied in my chart... malpractice), so didn't address infection concern. He said office would call me Monday, they did not. I called them Tuesday, FINALLY got through to a human, she said she would find out what nurse love wanted to do, so I called… my regular ENT when we hung up and got in to him within 2 days. No, nurse love did not contact me about infection. My ENT dx'd antibiotics and expects me to be able to get in contact with Hepworths office within a week! What a joke. Post op care SUCKS. If I had know ahead of time, I would have taken my ct results to my regular ENT before ever having this fiasco happen.

He paralyzed half my face and caused irreparable nerve damage to my head and neck.

Without a doubt, Dr. Hepworth is perhaps the most gifted, kindest, and ethical doctors. He has a keen sense of patient issues, and uncanny ability to find root causes, and an arsenal of approaches. I highly recommend him.

He's a gifted surgeon, a kind man and an ethical human with a deep soul. I owe him so much.

I flew to Denver to see Dr. Hepworth after nobody locally in Tennessee would diagnose or treat my cranial CSF leak. It was easily one of the best decisions I have made in my entire life. He is wonderful, attentive and is the first doctor who has tried to figure out some of my "why's". None of my other doctors understand CSF leaks and my underlying connective tissue disorder and intracranial hypertension like he does, and I have the utomost respect and appreciation for him. With that being said, the office is a bit difficult to deal with and unorganized at times, and his new NP has caused me some stress, but it is all worth it for Dr. Hepworth. Also want to note for those who do not believe that you have a leak, that he believes he sees, and for other doctors that have stated that he "finds a leak in every patient", Every patient I've talked to leaves with a video of their surgery. Our videos clearly show our leaks, and I interact with a lot of his patients in our FB community, of… those he does have patients who he finds sinus issues and no leaks, and others he just helps them find a doctor and answer outside of his office that can help them. There are very few patients who he has operated on looking for a leak, only to find none, and the main one that I know of had a positive pledget study at one point which was clear confirmation that person at the time had a leak. We all go to him because he's the only one who will believe and treat us and he gets people seeking him specifically for leak treatment from all over the world.

Dr. Hepworth has been my doctor since 2006. I have nothing but the highest regard for him. Is compassionate, helpful, and understanding. He has a true sense of what will help his patient. I have had sinus problems since I turned 21 over 50 years ago. I have had several doctors because my insurance has changed. Dr. Hepworth is definitely at the top of this list.

Dr. Hepworth has been my dr since 2009. He has worked miracles for me. I have some debilitating diseases, but Dr. Hepworth thinks outside the box and has found treatments for me that have been highly effective. I have many dr's, but he is my go-to dr. His staff is also exceptional. They have gone above and beyond my expectations consistently.

Never go to this Dr...Your life can depend on it.. He did nasal surgery on my husband in April. and 12 hours later he was fighting for his life from toxic shock and sepsis in ICU. ER Dr. stated if I had gotten him there 2 hours later he would not have made it. It damaged his heart and now at 55 he has a pacemaker. I have called office manager to adv. Dr. of this never heard back. They also require payment up front and ins. has paid but we still have not gotten our refund of $1100.00.
