Dr. Eric Michael Munro, MD

Today I had an appointment for a physical review with Dr Munro. He choose to use my time in the room with him to go off for around 20 minutes on a political rant. The language he used and the terms he used I will not insult you by stating here. Finally he gained control of himself and said where should I send these prescriptions?. I said what prescriptions? He said for Prednisone and an antibiotic. Giving prescriptions to fill incase I get the virus???? I stood up and said I'm going to find a new doctor and left the room. My advise would be no to become Dr Munro's patient.

Let's be clear, like teachers, if the patient receives input from the Doctor about his political ideology, shut the doctor up. The doctor issues medical advice not political input. How do I know? My wife who is care giving for a friend of our took the friend to the doctor's appt. and Munro gave his input regarding the POTUS and WH. Nuff said

Dr. Munro is or was a smart guy, and he has great credentials. He used to be a good doctor, but something bad has happened to his professional skills in or around 2013. Maybe it's the stress of having his own office, or maybe it's the frustration of dealing with insurance companies. The upshot: he is no longer a good doctor. He no longer is a good listener. He is remarkably arrogant and condescending. He is quick to criticize every other doctor and every new medicine on the market. Even so, he cannot formulate a treatment plan or follow through with a patient's issue. (Example: my mother's case.) Dr. Munro seems weak on differential diagnoses. When it comes to a situation where there are several doctors involved, he does not coordinate with other practitioners. He and his office staff are awful at returning calls. Oh, and don't tell him about your marital woes; he will tell you to get a divorce ... and he will say the same thing to your spouse during your spouse's appointment. Maybe… he's being paid by the local family law bar. (Just kidding ... but seriously, since when does a family practice doctor advocate divorce?! Or separately counsel both spouses?! That's a serious conflict of interest and professional breach. And then, there's "do no harm" ... ) Update: Dr. Munro took it upon himself to treat my stepson's "migraines," rather than refer him to a neurologist. Dr. Munro declined to order any imaging studies, in spite of disturbing symptoms. On 09-24-2019, my stepson presented at the emergency room with a brain bleed due to a hemorrhaging brain AVM. (My stepson's mom also had an AVM.) It will take a while before we will know the long-term/ permanent effects of the brain bleed. This life-threatening development could have been prevented if only Dr. Munro had ordered the indicated imaging studies ... or had referred my stepson to a more qualified physician.

Older comments more negative then the more recent ones. Most of them centered on the office staff lack of courtesy and not efficient. I'm a new patient as of 2018 and I find the staff helpful. So like any small business, good to see improvement. My appointments times are on the money, and my wait always less than 15 minutes. This office is definitely worth trying again, if you had a bad experience.

I have been very happy with Dr. Munro. I have been able to make appointments when needed. I am happy with the time spent with me, I feel he is concerned and make excellent diagnosis and follow up. Easy to talk with and great sense of humor. Ok a little dark but funny. I go here to see a doctor and he is a good one. Honest answers, great care.

Outrageous wait.

Arranged a appointment 3 weeks in advance for my husband , never received a call confirming his upcoming appointment so I called a week before to confirm with a nurse, the day of my husbands appointment I thought maybe I should call before the scheduled time, I spoke with a nurse named Jeanette she stated he was NOT on the schedule for that day, Without questioning his birthday or when was the appt made etc. I was then put me on hold she retuned back to the phone stated " my husband had been seen earlier that morning" I advised her that my husband had been home all day how could he be there for a appointment ,she rudely asked to speak to him on the phone I then handed him the phone he confirmed he had not be seen that morning & his birthday she stated "he had been mixed up with another patient" she asked to speak back with me, I stated to her "Your staff seems to be very unorganized" she put me on hold again returned back and stated "if you think we are unorganized maybe you… should go elsewhere " I asked her if Dr. Munro had knowledge of how she was speaking to patients? She replied he is standing next to me! I asked to speak with him ? Then stated he was not available to come to the phone,.. By the way I had previously had a physical with Dr. Munro he schedule different testing I never received a call back with results (negative or positive) or follow ups. I have never experienced this kind of service in a doctors office in my 50 +years! I/we will not be referring friends , family or co-workers to this Doctor!! Two thumbs down for this staff..

It took many years to finally find such a professinal and effective primary care physician as Dr. Munro. He is honest and blunt (which I appreciate) and exceptionally skilled. Very detailed in his analysis. He also has a great sense of humor (When he noticed I had gained weight, he wrote me a "prescription" on a post it note that said "stop eating bread, rice and pasta").

Long wait in patient room Close to an hour even though I was told the entire appointment when I was an hour when I arrived. As a result my Hemoglobin A1C he recommended that I go on a metformin for diabetes. The results of the test were never discussed in person even though results were borderline and could possibly be resolved with diet and exercise.. This was all communicated by voice mail. Asked for test results so that I could get a second opinion, My copy were Xeroxed in very small almost unreadable print 2 sheets were condensed into one sheet. The office copy was on very readable print and a full size. Mine copy was reduced to half print . I asked for a full size copy but never got it even though office manager said she would mail it I would never go back!!! Stay away from this Doctor. Very vindictive. My wife is a RN. She worked around Doctors for 30 years and she concurred something is very wrong with this office.
