I was referred to Dr. Papacostas due to a recent foot laceration. His office was able to squeeze me in! His staff was Informative and knowledgeable and very accommodating. I was treated very kindly and respectfully and when Dr. Papacostas assessed my wound he was gracious when he stated he unfortunately couldn’t help me but he immediately Fitted me with an air walking boot and referred me to a very competent plastic surgeon who Is treating me! I am so grateful for his time and professional judgement! Great doctor and staff in stark county!

First the phone call -I told the person making the appointment about my heel pain and That my knee is buckling more than normal and I am very concerned. She was pleasant-Appointment scheduled. Show up for appointment go through same explanation when I sign in at the desk. We even have the- Is the heel pain - the cause of the knee pain and I add the hip because in All honesty its hurts sometimes also – we have a laugh – she says we’re here to help and I am all set -they will take good care of me in the back. ( personally think if I can just get the knee and heel under control the rest of my pain and Stress will subside. I am relieved when I hear -they will take good care of me- I have tried to mend on my own for far too long.) I get called to the room- and I explain everything again- in more detail. When I try to bring up My knee I am cut off and told I am here for the heel only. The doctor will only speak about the Heel. I try to tell her I explained in the phone/front desk… it was both- cut off again. She leaves Comes back NOT at all compassionate- very short. She confirmed with the doctor and I am only here today to discuss one thing! My choice. Do I want to reschedule? If I try to discuss more than my heel it will throw off the other appointments. (because that is something I should Have to worry about??) All I can think is I am in pain, I have to pay my out of pocket for everything that is happening. I took off work to be at this appointment. I feel my stress mounting. Did I choose the wrong place/doctor? Doctor comes in, the person I AM supposed to be able talk to about me the whole picture- exactly what is wrong. I am not sure what to say about anything. He may have been great – he was informative and pleasant but rushed.. He entered with a prepared summation about my heel not with the intent to treat me as a patient waiting to talk to him about why I am there. I was seen to the desk, when I told the lady there I needed another appointment for my knee, she appeared confused like me took me around the side of the desk made a call handed me the phone to make my appointment and left me there while she helped other Patients. I have no idea about my prescription, follow-up- payment arrangements… just left me there. All in all it was NOT a good experience for me. I was made to feel like a number and my medical concerns were not important unless it fit a predetermined outline. And I really just don’t want to be in pain when I walk. I will pay good money for this experience. Shameful.
