I am so privileged to have had Dr. Fogel for my physician and surgeon for his last year of practice. Dr. Fogel has it all knowledge, professionalism, patient understanding and etc.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Fogel and his staff, especially Jennifer. They are there for you and do everything possible to help. Not impressed with Dr. Fogel. He may have been a competent surgeon in his day but I did not have a good experience. After communicating directly with him via email for a coccygectomy consult and sending a HUGE packet of imaging and workups prior to my surgical consult AND then flying from out of town for the consult he walked in the room as if he'd never heard of me and said "What can I do for you?". He had not reviewed ANY of my paperwork prior to my arrival and pretty much had zero knowledge of my very involved case or symptoms prior to me walking in the door. He started initially saying how he didn't have time for the detail involved in my appointment. I told him nicely that he had to make time given how much time and expense I had spent to come to the appointment. He finally conceded under duress. I had follow up testing his office ordered and was not contacted to go over results. I had to initiate all that WEEKS later. Questions were not quickly communicated or answered through… the portal or otherwise and Dr. Fogel appeared to not be in good health when I saw him in clinic. He's nice enough but I started having huge doubts about this rare, detailed surgery and follow-up care at this clinic so I decided to go with a younger neurosurgeon that was not past his prime. I feel this doc needs to retire. Spine surgery is serious. You need the best. Sadly, I found this doc sorely lacking. He apologized but too little too late in my opinion.

Just had a regionsignificant fusion in lumbar. Dr Fogel was outstanding in his care and communication thru the process. I am recovering well . Dr Fogel has followed up on me several times personally. I highly recommend Dr Fogel I don't think you can find a more skilled surgeon or more compassionate doctor.

You won't go wrong if you choose Dr. Fogel to correct a spinal problem. Two previous lumbar surgeries and other procedures relieved radiculopathy and cramping in my legs. But I ended up with severe neuropathy in my feet caused by the pinched spinal nerves. I looked up Dr. Fogel after months of PT, shots and other procedures failed. After reviewing my CT scan, MRI and nerve function test, he said he could help me out. He performed a "revision" surgery to correct a problem that developed after the fusions. Voila! Within two months, my feet are finally improving and the sciatic pain is mostly a memory. The frayed foot nerves appear to be regenerating, and I'm walking 3, 4 and 5 miles now with only a little discomfort well into the walk. I couldn't make it around the block before. Furthermore, Dr. Fogel's beside manner is top-notch. He won't shoo you out of the office in 10 minutes. He easily spent 30-45 minutes explaining my images and answering all my questions in every visit.

From the first visit I was impressed. Dr Fogel listens to pain description and understands how you the person is feeling. His staff is wonderful and knows their job well. Jennifer is great, she keeps you informed, calls you back when she says she will. I was blessed to be referred to him. Thank you

Dr. Fogel is an excellent surgeon. I was referred to him for a C6/C7 disc bulge that was causing stenosis of my spinal canal. Needless to say, I was in extreme pain, especially on my right side. He preformed a discectomy w/ implant on 15 Sept. I was pain free the next day. My recovery has been without any major issues and I am back to my normal activities of daily living. I would recommend Dr. Fogel 100 times over! I want to also acknowledge his staff and the surgery center staff at Christus Santa Rosa. The entire process was seamless!

From the time you walk in the door to the post-op visits everyone in the office greets you with a smile. Professional, knowledgeable and I got back right away with Dr. Fogel. He’s excellent takes a lot of time explaining what’s going on with your spine and step by step information on what needs ti be done. Would recommend the office to anyone who needs help with their back.
