Dr. Hal S Pineless, DO

I chose Dr. Pineless because of his specializing in neurology/psychiatry. Saw him for over a year... At my last appointment for MS, told him that the antidepressant prescribed was not affective. He stated I'd need to see a new psychiatrist to address a new antidrepessant. Dr. Pineless was also prescribing alprazolam to help with issues related to MS, never once stated that I needed to see a psychiatrist regarding alprazolam. Made an appointment with a new psychiatrist to address the anti-depressant, they had a 3 month plus waiting list. In the interim, my alprazolam came up for renewal. Denied by Pineless, stating he told me and my sister that I'd need to see a new psychiatrist for that too. My sister took copious notes at each appointment, never once did he state that alprazolam renewal was an issue; just anti-depressant. When I told he and his office staff that the appointment with the psychiatrist was still over two months away, asked for a refill to tide me over, they denied… it 3 times - even as I was suffering from seizures due to unsupervised withdrawals. No help, no direction, then a letter discharging me from his practice - stopping the infusion I needed for my MS in it's tracks, as a new neurologist is taking 2 plus months to get in and see. So much for Dr. Pineless upholding his Hippocratic Oath. He and his staff are rude, condescending, unprofessional, uncaring dolts.

We were referred to Dr. Pineless' office and scheduled an appointment after my sister was diagnosed as recovering from meningitis from a hospital visit. The address listed in google is incorrect so my Mom and sister arrived at the wrong location. When we finally received the correct address they arrived "too late" to fill out paperwork. After trying to explain why they were late the staff was condescending, rude, and refused to see them. Because I was originally part of scheduling the appointment I tried to call and speak with the office manager on their behalf. The office manager was not available so I spoke with the billing manager instead. Both she and the scheduler refused to listen to me, interrupted me when I tried to share our side of the story and then my Mom and sister could hear them complaining about how "they had the sister call" and "it is just one excuse after another with them." In the midst of Covid-19, they would only allow my sister to come back another day further… exposing her to the virus. I cannot believe any staff would treat people this way, much less in the midst of a global pandemic for a patient who is high risk.

I have been a patient for over 11 years he has been a constant positive figure in my life. Honest & compassionate during some very difficult times in my life.

Dr Pineless showed lack of compassion and care throughout the visit. He refused to listen to the patient and ultimately provided no assistance except to himself by way of the initial upfront fees paid for the new patient meet and greet. He did nothing except for cause more harm to me

I saw Dr, Pineless yesterday; he was kind, professional, and a good listener.

I had a hard time accepting my diagnosis of epilepsy at 1st and Dr pineless was wonderful with me over years we built a great relationship and he became one of my favorite doctors that I will refer many too. He saved my life!

I wish I'd read some reviews before I went to this appointment. I saw Dr. Pineless due to muscle pain and headaches I'd been having. After an exam, he told me that I was overweight and the "poster child for sleep apnea". I have no symptoms of that condition at all. He recommended a sleep study and a type of physical therapy. The physical therapy he sent me to was at a place where no one called me back or answered calls. I never got to go. When I told Dr. Pineless about some tests my last neurologist recommended I do to rule out a rheumatological disorder, he told me not to waste my time. Glad I didn't listen, as it turns out I was later diagnosed with lupus and fibromyalgia. So much for sleep apnea.

The office is well run in that there is little wait time, a major plus. However, it is not always easy to reach someone, especially in the afternoon, which is tough if you have terrible nerve pain and need a response. The dr. keeps his head buried in his laptop during the visit so much is missed. Every single prescription ordered through this office was messed up. Towards the end, I started checking the bottles and they were ordered by his PA, who I never saw. The dr. changed my anti-convulsants and sent me into a terrible withdrawal as he brought me down too quickly. Couple that with the difficulty of reaching the office staff and I was in misery for 10 days.

I meant to write this comment over 3 years ago when I was a patient there and suffering from trigeminal neuralgia. I went to their office one day in severe pain, this after trying to contact Dr. Pineless the day before but to no avail. I've made phone calls to the staff prior to even going to their office telling them that I needed a new prescription because the old one wasn't working anymore. When I arrived, they immediately told me that I cannot wait inside their office and should just wait for the PA to call me since Dr Pineless was not around that time. So I told them that I'll save the PA a phone call because he can just give the new prescription to me personally and I was willing to walt however long it takes as I was in agony. I can still vividly remember approaching the receptionist, obviously in severe pain, but she just dismissed me and even giggled. I wished at that time she could have felt a sample of the pain I was going through so maybe she couldve been a little bit… more compassionate. Thank God I found another neurolist with a more humane staff. I'm now pain free thanks to surgery, but I will never recommend this office to anyone based on the wait I was treated there.
