Dr. Harold James Colbassani JR., MD

I saw Dr. Colbassani for what appeared on CT as a herniated disc. Had the impresion that he was considering surgery but wanted me to first have injections (to the tune of about $400 each). Got two but the pain returned (but not nearly as intense). Then had a follow-up with Dr. C. At this point, surgery is NOT an option as it related to the injections not working (still am confused about the whole thing). I was okay re: surgery and yet relieved that I didn't have to go through the ordeal. Was referred to a pain management doc. Am considering an appointment but not right away. Want to absorb all the info and see if the pain persists. Time will tell.

I had Five Spine Surgeon Consultations. Dr. Colbassani was the only Surgeon of the five, who was not able to read my recent Cervical MRI. Rather than blaming himself, he abruptly stopped the consultation and insisted I get another Cervical MRI. Meanwhile, all the other Surgeons were able to read it without any problem. I chose not to return.

For my severe Cervical stenosis as seen on MRI, I had a total of 5 Spine Surgeon Consultations. All Surgeons, except Dr. Colbassani, were able to read my recent Cervical MRI without any difficulty. Rather than blame his own ineptness, Dr. Colbassani instead blamed the MRI itself. He abruptly stopped the consultation, and insisted that I get another Cervical MRI before returning to him. Meanwhile, again, all the other Spine Surgeons read the same MRI without any problem. My insurance would not approve payment for another Cervical MRI, knowing that they just paid for one two weeks earlier. So, that meant that I’d have to pay for another MRI out of pocket. Needless to say, I did not return to Dr. Colbassani. This was a wasted visit, and a wasted co-payment!!

Dr. Colbassani is a very talented Surgeon. Fixed my back, and I'm back to playing golf again. His staff is very Professional. RN Kelly, and PA Ryan, and the Girls at the front deck are Great. Always giving 100%. I'm so lucky to find such a great Surgeon, and Office Staff. I Thank you all.... BoB Z. USCG Retired

Dr. Colbassoni is the absolute best neurosurgeon in Pinellas County. He took out two disks in my neck. Excellent bedside manner. You can barely see the incision and I feel great!

After many doctors would not treat me he was able to give me 80% chance compared to 50/50 the others did. I now have my life back again. He is very , very great at what he does! I am a success , considering the severity of my condition. I would recommend him to anyone, & I have seen MANY surgeons to compare him to!

I have lived a great life due to the perfection of work that Dr. Colbassani performed 22 years ago. I am blessed as he is with such caring and the positive approach as I had almost lost my life twice til he gave me life with his knowledge and God Given talent, Neurologist.THX

I can't believe the reviews I read about Dr. Colbassani! He saved me from being totally crippled. We traveled to go to see him.....Best thing I ever did. After dealing with many doctors and horrible pain I finally found help with Dr. Colbassani. Thank God I found when I did. He is no nonsense type of person, this is what needs to be done, period. I decided to do surgery and called to set it up. No problem, staff is awesome, very knowledgeable. Follow-ups no problem. I am walking again today because of Dr. Colbassani. Thank You!!!!!

Dr. Colbassani is the only dr. that helped me with my cervical spine issues. I went to Dr. Gianakoplis in New Port Richey and he said he couldn't help me because he didn't want me to go paralyzed due to surgery. I left there and cried and I thought to myself, well I guess I have to live this way. Then I remembered that I had heard about Dr.Colbassani from some nurses that I use to work with when I was a cna. I remember them saying he was the best. I decided to go see him. It turned out that I had to have 3 surgeries. Its been 3 years now and I am so grateful that my arms no longer burn like they did and hurt, just to wash my hair. I am so grateful to him. His staff took awesome care of me when I was in the hospital because I got sick from the anesthesia, The physicans assitant never left my side. I highly recommend him to anyone that has spine issues, hes great. Thanks to him I feel half alive again. My back is now starting to act up but I saw him for that and he recommended… shots, So I went ahead and got them done.
