Dr. Herbert Paul Knauf III, MD

Does not listen well, take time to answer questions. Does not take enough time with the patient. Impatient. Disappointing as I had to go somewhere else to get the help I needed. Arrogant. This entire review is my opinion.

I had laser-assisted cataract surgery one month ago. My eyesight is phenomenal and the procedure was quick and painless! Thanks to Dr. Knauf I now have 20/20 vision and the new lense corrected my astigmatism too. I highly recommend "Eye Site" There staff is efficient and friendly.

Dr. Knauf is very egotistical, which I will tolerate to get good medical care; however, after having cataract surgeries on both eyes, my vision was not acceptable and I had double vision in one eye. I returned for followup care and a procedure to correct my problem was performed by removing the posterior capsule of the lens (YAG laser capsulotomy) on both eyes. I still have poor vision and double vision on the left eye. Dr. Knauf was very rude and said that I couldn't expect to have perfect vision and had no explanation for my double vision. I sought advice from another ophthalmologist who said that the artificial lens selection was not a good choice and that there was a wrinkle in the artificial lens when it was placed in my eye that was causing the double vision. I will never return to Dr. Knauf's practice because my wife also had a bad experience there having been diagnosed with glaucoma by Dr. Sheets. After a second opinion by another ophthalmologist, she was told that she did not… have glaucoma and that was several years ago and followups since still show no problems. Knauf's office does not do any Lasik procedures either.

Patient there for 40 years...never a problem since they have cookies & coffee in the waiting room & plenty of magazines...usually I take a book which works until they put the dilating drops in my eyes ...No follow up...I just call & go back in if there is a problem
