Dr. John Lionghan Tan, MD

Dr. Tan is a brilliant, kind, and compassionate doctor. Four years ago, Dr. Tan saved my father's life. Because Dr. Tan was able to diagnose my dad quickly, at 80 years old he survived quadruple bi-pass surgery. Dr. Tan continues to monitor and treat my father's heart condition, and my dad has remained healthy because of him. My family is forever grateful to Dr. Tan, he is an incredible man. Personally, I will never be able to thank Dr. Tan's medical assistant enough. Barbara has been and remains to be a constant in my family's life. Her medical knowledge, incredible patience, and emotional support that she continues to give to me and my family are well above and beyond her job. Barbara is incredible. I don't know what I would do without her.

I have been a patient of Dr. Tan for over three years and I find him exceptionally professional and knowledgeable. He is very detailed with his examinations and readily employs all the diagnostic techniques and protocols to arrive at the comprehensive evaluation of his patients. I have had the opportunity to be cared for the some of the best cardiologists in Boston, Mass., Yale New Haven Hospital, and the Medical College of Virginia, (VCU Medical Center), and Dr. Tan Rates at the same high level of standards and competency.

Incompetent staff and a Medical Director, Dr John L. Tan, ( Real Name Dr HAN L. Tan,) who is so incompetent he is clueless about the dangers this " North Texas Heart center" places patients in. Staff that fails to follow Dr's instructions and make follow up appointments, fails to call in heart medications, fails to forward critical medical exams/tests to other medical providers, fails to order heart monitors ordered by the Dr and the list goes on. If they were treating athlete's foot ok, maybe not a big deal however these are patients with HEART CONDITIONS. If you want substandard care, by all means set up an appointment. As for me, I will find another cardiologist. Seriously, this place is so bad, I wouldn't take my dog to be treated there. If you are a plaintiff attorney filing a civil action against this facility, I will be more than happy to testify under oath or in a deposition how the mission statement of this facility seems to be neglect the patient, not cure them

I was born with a congenital heart defect and went to see him because of some troubling symptoms. We scheduled an ecocardiagram. The day of the test he was not present. Never in my 25 years as a heart patient has a doctor not done a quick check after the technician has taken pictures. the cardiologists has ALWAYS discussed results right after with me. A week later I have received zero information. I don't see how he can be an adequate doctor if he doesn't take the time to examine his patients.

At the age of 47 I had a heart attack,afraid and mildly depressed, Dr Tan helped to ease my mind. Dr Tan took the time to listen to my concerns and assured me that following the prescribed treatment plan I would be fine. Today I am living my life to the fullest and thanking God every day I am alive.

When my mother fractured her femur and was admitted to Presbyterian Hospital, Han L. Tan (aka John L. Tan) put her on a ~20 drug CYA cardiac cocktail that left her so incapacitated that she was unable to get out of bed and participate in rehab and, consequently, ultimately died. Any attempt to discuss her situation and to alter or change her medication was met only with recited disclaimers. In 15+ contacts with Tan, neither I nor my mother got the slightest indication that he was concerned with anything other than his own personal liability.
