I’m grateful I was referred to Dr Hickman by my friend that had both knees replaced with excellent results. I’m 6 weeks post op from my first TKA. Dr Hickman has a cute, fun personality but what I really wanted was a surgeon that is the best at his profession. I believe that is Dr Hickman. I had a small amount of bruising, the swelling has rectified, the incision was small and I am pleased with his work. While recovery from TKA is not fun, I feel I am sailing along pretty fast and enjoying my new knee! His staff is helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. This gives me confidence to get my other knee done. I would highly recommend Dr Hickman to anyone.

I had a left hip replacement performed by Dr. Joshua Hickman, and the entire experience exceeded my expectations. Dr. Hickman, his physician’s assistant, and his office staff were consistently kind, professional, and easy to work with. Dr. Hickman’s bedside manner truly stood out—he was caring, informative, personable, and showed genuine compassion throughout the process. The office staff was friendly and organized, and the team at Layton Surgical Center was exceptional. Every nurse treated both me and my wife with care, empathy, and respect. You could tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. Post-surgery follow-up was thorough and thoughtful, with communication from the surgical center, PA, and office staff. I’ve been thoroughly impressed and highly recommend Dr. Hickman and his team.

I was referred to Dr. Hickman from a previous hip replacement patient of his. I was never able to be seen by Dr. Hickman as his staff at his Layton location failed in the following ways after I showed up on-time for my appointment: 1) they had checked me in but had actually not checked me in, 2) did not pay attention to me sitting in their lobby for over 90-minutes while other patients were seen, 3) did not adequantely address my concern for the length of my wait or offer to advance my being seen once they realized their mistake after I had inquired why my wait was so long, and 4) didn't appear to care if I cancelled my appointment with Dr. Hickman and went to another clinic to be seen by someone else. My observation of his practice is they have plenty of patients to see and new patients are really not welcome.

Very first visit. Dr. Hickman was very kind; he shook my hand and greeted my warm and professionally. He showed me and throughly explained the knee replacement surgery process. From start to finish. Professional office staff as well. He took the complex and made it simple and to the point. Totally trust. Through patience and kind guidance I was able to exhale and set aside worries .
