Dr. Spencer Hayden Amundsen

Very disappointed . He is nothing but ARROGANT and he was WRONG in telling me I didn't have a blood clot when the ultrasound showed I did! Don't TRUST a word he says. He's all about himself and braggs what a great surgeon he is yet other docs don't ask him to do their personal surgery if they need it. I witnessed that in person. He has his mind set about your condition even if he is wrong. My opinion of him is lower than toilet paper on the bottom of people's shoes leaving public restrooms. He's a jerk of a doctor. Clueless.

I love golf, but had to quit 9 years ago because of excruciating pain in my hip, groin and back. I went to numerous doctors who mostly suggested I take tylenol for my arthritis. But Dr. Amundsen correctly diagnosed the problem and managed to slip me in for an "elective" hip replacement surgery despite the pandemic. I am moving better and pain free at last. I look forward to getting back to the golf course.

Prior to seeing Dr. Admundsen, I had visited other physicians without any luck at being able to correct my pain. Dr. Admundsen took xrays of both hips and spent the time needed with me to share his conclusion on what seemed to be going on with my hips. In the end, he did not tell me what to do, but gave some suggestions on how to approach the correction. It has been a long time since any doctor I have visited "let me make the decision" based on his conclusions. So, I decided and he agreed that we would start with replacing the hip that causing the most pain and then to go from there. The surgery was done as out-patient surgery. I was admitted in the afternoon and the surgery was completed late in the afternoon. My mother had come from South Carolina to be with me. After the surgery, the doctor met with my 84 year old mother and answered every question she had after the surgery. I believe my mother is now referring friends in South Carolina to Dr. Admundsen. I stayed… as an out-patient overnight and was released the next morning after showering and making sure that I would have no problems walking. I had two sessions at home with a therapist and was released when I escorted him a walk thru the neighborhood. I worked from home for a week and then returned to work the following week. Dr. Edmundsen told me when he released me that it was up to me as to when we should attempt the second hip. I was trying to put it off for a year, but when the pain began to increase, and knowing how much the first hip replacement was so easy, I decided to get the second hip replacement six months later. The surgery procedure was just like the first and I only saw the therapist once after the surgery. He said based on my abilities to walk that I did not need him any further. I was offered pain medication during both surgeries and I did not need the medication. The doctor is one of the best that I have ever met and has an excellent bedside manor. I wish he did more that joint replacements and I would use him for all of my medical needs. You can not go wrong when selecting Dr. Admundsen as your doctor.

So glad we found Dr Amundsen! Excellent work and he restored my faith in Orthopedic Surgeons. The best experience by far!

I had a partial Knee repair, A petello-femoral replacement, Feb 2019, In 5 weeks I am getting around very well. I am not healed but the swelling is way down, and success and a useable joint is close .

I went in to see Mason, Dr. Amundsen’s PA but was seen by Dr. Amundsen instead. He is patient and explains everything in terms I understand. I’m very satisfied with the visit. He also always takes a few minutes to ask how things are going. I wouldn’t even consider going to another orthopedic doctor.
