Dr. Julio Cesar Cantero, MD

I am so pleased to see my Doctor, Dr. Julio Cantero recognized by his peers to be one of the top Physicians in our area. I know from the care he has given me he has the ability to help a patient be calm during critical times and provide the necessary medical care. Thank you Dr. Cantero for all you do and for the guidance you give to your patients like me. Congratulations for being recognized and honored.

I have been going to Dr Cantero for over 4 years. I would not change him for anyone else. Dr. Cantero not only takes the time to listen, but always does what is best for me and my pain. Highly recommended.

An excellent diagnostician and a compassionate doctor! A great combination!

This doctor is a fraud. He provided a epilepsy diagnosis to one of his patients and prescribed seizure meds and threatened to take away their license if they didn't want to take the type of meds with severe side effects he insisted on. Upon receiving a second opinion after being threatened, turns out it's not epilepsy or seizures at all. This doctor puts their patients at risk and has been reported to the state of Florida Board of medicine and the department of health for the damage that's been done.

As a result of Dr. Cantero's poor follow up my mother almost died. He prescribed medication without testing and then doubled the dosage. When my mother was in the hospital, he didn't visit or return my family member's phone calls. I would keep looking for a neurologist is Sarasota, there are plenty and he isn't going to care for you the way he should.

Dr. Cantero was very courteous and professional. He explained everything about my pains and answered any questions that I had. He listens and analyzes your symptom to provide the correct mode of care. I feel very fortunate that I found him. Never felt rushed. Doc listened and addressed all my concerns. The best experience I've ever had with a physician. I would highly recommend him to others

To fast and doesn't document changes for patient's reference

I have been going to Dr. Cantero for 7- years so I have a pretty good feel for the kind of man he is as a physican.. I have been a patient of the Intercoastal Medical Group for probably 15 years and have been to approx. 12 physicans wthin the group. Dr. Cantero has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is the most compassionate physican in the group. He has never let me down. He has never rushed me. He is pretty consistant with being on time with his appointments. If he runs late, it's usually for a good reason. I remember being in one of the examine rooms years ago waiting. Walls can be thin but there are some sounds that even walls can't keep out. I remember it like it was yesterday and it just makes me respect him all the more. He had to tell a family that one of the parents had a severe problem and everyone was crying and were scared and asking questions left and right. I only heard bits and pieces but b/c I waited for Dr. Cantero for over an hour, I could piece… together there was a crisis next door so I just waited. When Dr. Cantero came into my room he was very apologitic for the wait. I could not be mad at a man that sat with a family in crisis holding thier hand and anwsering thier questons knowing he would be running late the rest of the day, patients being mad for having to wait, probably no lunch but he gave them what they needed and that is what he does for me everytime I need him. He is truly awesome. He listens to what you say and between the two of you, he lets you be an active part of your treatment. He has NEVER just blown me off or rushed me through an appointment. Like I said, he should be called Dr. Awesome b/c he truly makes you feel that you are his only patient while you are in the exam room and is very focusd on you and what you are saying. With my condition, he has saved my life and if I feel something is off or I'd like to try something else, we talk about the pro and cons and "we" decide what is best for me. How many of your doctors can you say that about? I only have one that I know, Dr. Cantero.

I have seen Dr Cantero 6 times so far. Each time I felt he was attentive and also made sure I understood his explanations. Never rushed me. . Warm and caring each time. He found a problem I didn't even know about and it was important.
