Showed no evidence of giving a hoot

Patient care isn't that good. I'd hope they'd help cure a problem I had, but they just gave me the same medication after it didn't work the first time without trying another option. They didn't really seem to care about really figuring out the problem, I was told it was the strongest type of medication but then I went to a health center at my college who gave me a different form of medication and it cured up. It just made me question them when a college health center helped me and cared more then Dr. Dias Martins office. After I called them to tell them my frustration with their service the doctor said that they don't want me to come their anymore. Also one of the ladies that work at the desk always has an attitude and tried to tell me that the cure I got at the college health center didn't exist when I can get a valid answer from google in 2 seconds.

Dr. Dias-Martin is a wonderful Gynecologist..but her receptionist/office manager is one of the worse I have ever encountered. She is insensitive, incompetent, and appears to be absent minded. Unfortunately, one has to deal with her before getting to the Doctor. She has given me wrong information and I don't believe she even gives the Doctor my messages. I have been going to Dr. Dias-Martin for many years but decided to change when I had a more serious procedure and felt that I needed a Dr. with a staff that I can depend on. Unfortunately, her staff is a reflection of the practice.

I've been going to Dr. Dias-Martin for over 8 years and I have had a number of issues with this place. First, the staff is almost always insensitive. Over the years, there have been a number of times when I've needed to call the office to speak to the doctor, ask about a medicine that was prescribed, or some other issue. From the receptionists to the nurses, they are curt and unpleasant when they get on the phone. They act just short of outright rude and I ALWAYS hang up the phone feeling guilty for calling, guilty that I've inconvenienced them somehow. I have NEVER experienced this feeling calling any other doctor's office. Second, I have received bad advice from the nurse on a few things. One time I was nauseous from an antiobiotic that the doctor prescribed, so I needed to be prescription something else. I had two options: a pill or a shot. The shot was more expensive as I would have to pay out of pocket, but the nurse advised me to purchase it because it would be… a one time administration of medicine. After I purchased the shot, I went to the office to have it administered by the nurse, she then informed me that I would need to pay $20 more for a shot fee. What? She never informed me of this fee when she advised me to purchase the shot. I would have had to pay over $50 for this shot, except that I was so angry that I demanded to speak to the doctor. Instead of getting the doctor, however, the nurse just gave me they shot for free. I think she knew it was her fault and didn't want to get in trouble. Another time, I lost a packet of birth control pills. I called the office to ask for a sample pack because I would have had to pay $150 out of pocket for another pack at the RiteAid. The nurse (a different one) said she would put one aside for me and I told her I wouldn't be able to pick it up right away because of work. Two weeks later I called on a day I had off to make sure the sample pack was still there and not only did they have no idea what I was talking about, they said they had no more sample packs. All gone. What?? They had thrown them all away and so I had to go a month without birth control pills until my insurance sent out the new pack. Finally, I have an ongoing personal issue that I've been dealing with for years. The doctor knows about it and how it has seriously affected my marriage with my husband. However, every time I go for my annual, she NEVER asks me about it. I am the one who ends up bringing it up to her, mostly because it doesn't go away. I feel like if a patient has a serious problem, she should at least ask about it. Nope, never does. I just their office this morning because I need to ask the doctor about the timing of my pills. I left a message for her to call me, but two hours have gone by with no response. I called again a few minutes ago and explained that because we have a blizzard coming this afternoon, I just want to check in since I am concerned the doctor would forget to call and go home for the day. The receptionist literally scoffed at me and said curtly (as usual), "Well, she's seeing non-stop patients. We'll be here until 5." I wanted to tell her that she didn't need to be rude, but I just hung up on her before I said anything. At this point, I feel like I need a different doctor, one that asks me about my ongoing issues, one who makes me feel like she knows what's up with my history, and has a staff that is more courteous and welcoming.

Dr. Dias Martin had been my doctor for six years. Although she is an intelligent and capable doctor, her method of practice does not reflect her abilities. Just like another former patient, I too received a prescription in the mail without any explanation. It came on a Friday and I was unable to actual speak with her ( that was also a challenge-the nurse kept trying to put me off but I did finally speak with her). Also, another incident occurred when the nurse called me to say that my mammogram came back with some issues and to contact a breast surgeon. Dr. Dias Martin would not discuss any details with me because she considered herself the gate keeper. She also wouldn't recommend any breast surgeons. So, I found my own and had to anxiously await to find out any info. It seems to me that this is a very unprofessional and quite frankly completely uncaring way to treat your patient. She seemed great until there were issues that arose. Then she basically turned her back. I actually agree… that a breast surgeon is the one who should manage the mammograms and any issues. But let us know ahead of time this is the way you want to practice. To just cut your patient off without any guidance when a problem arises is just plain mean. As far as the prescription in the mail without any explanation, I guess she can say " I did my job" to cover herself but obviously she doesn't want to take anytime to make a phone call first.

I was referred to Dr. Dias Martin by a friend/coworker since I am new to the area. BIG MISTAKE! I made my appointment for my annual and to get a renewal prescription for birth control pills. She was very friendly during my visit and answered my questions. She "talked me into" getting tested for STIs AFTER she had taken the cultures. She said it was up to me. She can either send it in or throw it away since some patients may not be psychologically prepared for it. Of course, I said "Sure, why not?" She did give me a choice so I was fine with that... But overall, I was pretty satisfied with my initial visit... Well, one week later, I get test results and a prescription for a strong antibiotic in the mail. I was completely CONFUSED. What was this for? What do I have? I DID NOT receive any form of communication prior to receiving the script. No phone call, no letter. I call the following day since they are closed Thursdays. I am told the doctor is with a patient but the nurse can… help me. She proceeds to ask me if I picked up the script. I said yes, but I need to know what is going on. She said I have an infection and to call after I finish the antibiotics to do a follow-up. I ask her questions like WHAT is the infection, HOW did I get it, etc. etc. she seemed to get annoyed with me and not really answering my questions.. AND she still REFUSED to pass the phone over to Dr. Martin Dias, who I can HEAR over the phone saying she spoke to me (which she DID NOT). I hang up the phone still completely confused and now insulted by how I was treated. I work in the medical field and that was just COMPLETELY UNPROFESSSIONAL, COLD, UNCARING, and DISGUSTING. We would never EVER treat our patients like how I was treated, especially with the news that I received from them. Now, I am looking for a new OBGYN in the area.

She was recommended to my family of ladies, but after one visit, we found out that she doesn't accept Medicaid United Healthcare for my grand daughter. My older daughter took her for her visit and liked Dr. Dias-Martin and wanted to switch from her present GYN to her practice, only to find out she doesn't accept Qualcare POS. How very discouraging. Why not join some other insurances and be able to spread your wealth of knowledge and expertise to others?

Doctor was nice when I visited the office but the follow up was not as fast as I hoped. Office staff is incapable of doing their job, I have to keep calling many times until my request was made. Plus, the office hour is only M-W, till noon.If you go there just for a routine check up, its ok, but other than that, I would not recommend at all.
